Honestly think Ashley wants to be hated by us. It feels like he’s punishing us for past events. He’s not going is he. The thing is he could easily fix it. That’s what bugs me. He could say. Right get a manager in. There’s 100 million. Crack on and buy a mix of proven players and development.

Openly admit that that’s it for investment and that he wants the fans support.

It's amazing really, to me at least, how badly wrong he has got it at the club. To be honest for all the other fans out there and media who say we expect to be challenging for titles and Europe we are quite simple fan base to satisfy - give it a go, no less than 100% and we will scream and shout for you - I mean we still turn up in the thousands when all hell is breaking loose, imagine what it'd be like if we we're even close to competing!

Mate I'm not being mean laughing at you, but how has it taken you this long to work this out? Does it feel like purgatory? That is what he promised when the fans abused his daughter that time.

Mind I can see some fans heading off down that route again very soon if he doesn't get this sale done. Obviously its completely out of order and I'd never say its ok to get that personal. Its only football afterall. However I think he must accept he is inviting it somewhat with his behaviour because the club is very important to the fans.

 

I agree the media make us out worse than we are. I myself have uttered the words that I just want to see 100% given. I've come to the realisation however its a bullshit line. We don't expect that. We expect a helluva lot more. If that wasn't the case we would be delighted right now because we do have a set of players who care and give 100%. Regardless of managerial changes its still the case.

The reality is we want more. We want investment. We want what Rafa wanted, a clear path of progression towards the top table. So we want to see the club have top end facilities, we want to spend big money and compete.

You know what? I don't think there is anything wrong with admitting you want the best for your club and you are ambitious. There is nothing wrong with wanting to achieve in life. The line spun is that football is a business. No it isn't. Fat cats are driving towards that but the core values of football are still sporting ones. Its a shame owners like Ashley don't have any rules to adhere to in that regard. Given their attempts with FFP to control these owners have failed badly, it would be nice if someone hit it from a different angle and put some sporting principles in the fit to be an owner test. Newcastle fans have sporting ambitions is all. The complaints about finance are because the fans know you need it to realise those ambitions. We possibly have some parties wanting to come in and help achieve those ambitions and an owner who is putting his financial needs (and possibly some petty vendettas) above those. The rules should force him to sell if certain criteria is met. I'm just thinking off the top of my head here because Ashley is pretty much a unique case and this should be prevented from happening again to another club in the future.
