Ok she saved it, so yes did well, but “bloody good save”?? Not really for me. It was fairly routine. Nice TV dive. Very poor pen. Not much power. At least 1.5m from the post. Comfortable height.
England are exciting going forward and are good at last ditch defending...but be better if they had less practice at that.
And making Norway look so average. They are a good team, yet our attacking prowess kept them on the back foot for long periods & exposed their weakness. Tomorrow night should be fun! Blood & reds please.
I was saying the same last night Fran. Good most of the time, brilliant at times and then the most atrocious pass. But someone always there to clear it up. I was shouting at the telly a few times ... either due to great goals or astounding passes to Norway. We are getting better every game ... and Lucy Bronze ... wow!
Ignoring all the usual jokes about Phil Neville's footballing qualities, he said last night that Lucy Bronze was a better player than he was....some admission from a player...especially about a female player.
I loved how Alex Scott was enthusing over Lucy Bronze, who after all replaced her in the England set up. Not a trace of envy or bitterness, just sheer admiration of a wonderful footballer.
Alex Scott is a star. Really good BBC team. Always loved Dion and seeing him and Jordan Nobbs together reminds me of the legendary Frazer Josh partnership Quick mention for Jill Scott too, who does a lot of the non-headline stuff in midfield, rarely gives the ball away and can pick a pass. Saw her play when Man City played Yeovil in Dorchester and she just kept winning that ball and moving it around
