Reading Proud Foxes article about Tommy Wright (not the original one) It got me wondering, what players from yesteryear do you most fondly remember ? Iwan Roberts (the goals & that smile), Muzzy Izzet (work rate & LCFC legend), Gary Lineker (need I say more) to name but a few.
Frank Large playing with a broken nose and heading the ball and hitting the bar from the edge of the area and watching the bar bounce for a full minute. Graham Cross starting with a red face and watching it turn near purple as the game progressed. Colin Appleton - probably the best centre back I have seen in a City shirt.
Most of O'Neill's team, Walshie, Izzet, Heskey, Lennon and Elliott in particular. Can't remember anything before that.
Mike whitlow... Came round to my house after writing him a letter begging for a signed autograph!! What a nice fellow!
Emile heskey. and i dont want to start rumours, but i can tell you that a couple of weeks ago he enrolled his son in a local school...
Elliott, Taggart, Walsh ... Savage, Lennon, Izzet ... Heskey, Cottee class! and Frank Sinclair scoring for fun! not neccessarily at the right end
I will never forget Franks own goal at Middlesborough. He near the half way line nothing was on and with out looking he smashed it back towards his own goal only the find Ian Walker wasnt in his goal
Oh Frank Large! Why did we part exchange him for that self conceited twat clarke! Use to love seeing him knock defenders out the way
