I don't know how no one has said this already but did everyone see how Szczesny saved a shot with his balls?
There is no deal to make. Anyone can read this post and make up their own minds on whether or not I am wumming or trying to enter into bona fide debate, whereas you have made a baseless accusation that I know you cannot back up
Hoddle, in my opinion you haven't arrived to patronise, and while most of the posters who have ridiculed and bemoaned at you are usually decent fellas, they seem to have got the wrong end of the stick on this one. I don't think you arrived to WUM, I think you came for debate. Shame it didn't work out that way. Arsenal have shortcomings, but last night they had a few things they've been lacking for a while - defensive metal, and balls, Chesneys balls. They dedicated themselves to the cause and really worked for that result. That's fantastic. The new signings are going to take time to settle in, that's a given. That's why Santos hasn't featured yet. Arteta looks like he's settled immediately. Ramsey is a good player, Wilshere is quality, Vermaelen is the best CB at the club. These players are all to come back. Gervinho and Song have been suspended - they're both 1st choice players. Against Liverpool the team faltered after the sending off, against Man Utd they were still in the game at 57mins until Wenger removed the DM and went for broke to get back in, and it backfired HUGELY. I appreciate that most of your knowledge of Arsenal most likely comes from the media rather than watching all the games, as is the same with myself and Spurs. Having watched the recent Arsenal games however, I can see signs of progress, and as they slowly settle as a team I think they'll find their form and begin to win. In the meantime, they're still grinding out results, which is very positive. There is no crisis, Arsenal are on the up.
Thank you. I do appreciate your comments I hold my hands up and admit that that is exactly how it is. I appreciate your honesty, fella You are right to be more optimistic than non-Arsenal fans. We are always going to paint a blacker picture, because we are looking at the side that you used to be, whereas you (being fully aware of your side's shortcomings and not needing someone like me to point them out to you) can take heart that things are not as bad as they could be. Which ever of us is right, one thing I know for certain is that a club as big and as well-run as Arsenal is not going to be on its uppers for more than a season or two, so that even if you do have a mare of a season this time round, you'll have put measures in place to ensure that the rot is quickly stopped. I think you are better placed that LFC to turn things round quickly. I can't see Wenger having spent £35 million on Carroll, for example, or even the £10 million that he's probably actually worth.
I was happy with the point. The Dortmund goal wss at least not down to bad defending or marking. I am encouraged that it is Olympiakos at home next, who lost last night at their ground. A win for Arsenal there will leave them adrift.
