And we are still at court with Ashley after he got his claws into us, can't seem to shake him off at all. I really can't see any decent "proven" manager taking the Newcastle job. Why the bookies had Mourinho et al in the running is a mystery.

And if he gets relegated with Newcastle and doesn't get them out of the Championship at first attempt? His reputation would be ruined. Gerrard is not stupid.

Why would he get relegated? 13th and 10th last two seasons and second half of the season after almiron signed no team outside the top 6 won more points ... hed get a decent amount to spend 50 million plus player sales so 70 million if he sold Gayle as that looks done at 20 million. This nonsense that Newcastle have a championship side irritates me... We've got some very good players.. need rondon though and seems an issue due to his age .... gerard would walk to Newcastle from rangers.

Maybe he would like a challenge in a league with more than two clubs?

Did you not have quite a few loanees last season? You think they will want to go back to Newcastle? You think the players there might want a move if the manager is Gary Monk as opposed to Benitez?

I ain't happy, just it ain't turmoil, just the same old Ashley ****. Chelsea currently have no manager, are they in turmoil.

What you have said is what everyone already knows about Ashley and why we end up with the likes of Pardew and McClaren. Yeah it's a **** set up and no decent manager would no near it (Rafa the obviously glaring exception) , but we'll still have a manager at the start of the season be he **** or good.

This ain't a crisis as we've seen it many times before.

Look mate Scottish football is a low budget no frills kwiksave option for a young manager with aspirations to manage literally any team in England.

    Sorry , but that's a fact

Haris Vuckic was scoring for fun in Scotland FFS. If that doesn't prove the standard there is ****, then I don't know what does...

You both are carrying on like I have ever said Scotland is a good league. I'm sure Gerrard would rather be playing European football, albeit the Europa League than aspiring to midtable mediocrity. And if Scottish football is so ****, how come it took Burnley until extra time to knock out Aberdeen last season? And I won't even mention players like Pukki, Waghorn, Garner and Barton that couldn't kick their own arses in Scotland but are/were great in the Championship.

LOL I love the way Burnley are being used as the yardstick as to whether Scottish football is **** or not....!

Fact - Scottish football is low quality, low budget, and an unglamorous and turgid league. No manager worth their salt will stay there, its the division where Gordon Strachan can win the league! Why would Rodgers walk away from winning everything every year, and go to a mid table club like Leicester if it wasn't ****?

Gerrard is a very young manager and he'd jump at the chance at managing Newcastle if he were offered the job. Regardless of the Ashley situation, Newcastle is a high profile Premier league role, which gets him far more exposure and challenge than the crappy Rangers role.

High profile according to you. I shall reiterate my point, even if you don't agree with me. Gerrard wouldn't leave Rangers for Newcastle.

He would mate just like a Newcastle player would leave for a highter salary. I dont know why so many fans haven't figured it out yet.
