Good Morning Everyone Phil Hay tweeted yesterday to keep us informed our our loan targets! Phil Hay@PhilHay They’re still on with the four you know about - Costa, White, Harrison, Kent. Because they’d be loans, all dependent on wishes of other clubs and terms of deals. Buffon rumour is comedy, but you know that. If you were told at the back end of last season that these four names would be our loanees during the 2019-20 season, and we'd be losing Jack Clarke; how happy would you be on a scale of 1-10? Ben White has started to follow Kalvin Phillips on social media! Is that a hint, that the 21yo is on his way to Elland Road? According to Soccer pundit Noel Whelan, Spurs have made a fresh bid of 12m plus add ons for Jack Clarke. Thoughts, if true? Leeds head of medicine Rob Price has been speaking to LUTV about another strenuous summer for the players to once again reach maximum fitness levels for the forthcoming campaign. “The programme we have put in place is very similar to last year’s to get them to the levels that they were able to achieve in the games,” “It’s a really well coordinated plan that they go through over the summer programme but we have got to build them in slowly just to make sure that we don’t overload them in these first few days.” “There’s lots of monitoring that goes on. “You will see every day that the players will get monitored on how much they have slept, what the muscle soreness is, how they have perceived the session the day before is, what their rate of perceived exertion is and all this is and all that is taken into account to decide whether they can do more the next day. “But pre-season is a time of overload as well and to get them to be better you actually have to put more into them. “It’s no good being too light and too easy with them or else you don’t actually get the benefits.” Thoughts? Barnsley are poised to swoop for Leeds youngsters Mallik Wilks and Aapo Halme. The talented duo have been on the radar of the Tykes ever since they were promoted. A Leeds insider was quoted as saying that Leeds would let the duo leave as long as they were able to capture their first choice targets. Thoughts?
Morning Elland and all. The speculation is just that. Rob price is the guy who gave the interview explains why we had more than our fair share of injuries and it’s to be expected given the high tempo game and training. Safe to assume, given that, this seasons squad should be four or five bigger than last season, quality additions of course. Might be another week or two till the real excitement begins. I followed the journal.ie on twitter yesterday because it’s a good read, doesn’t mean I’m getting a job with them though
Morning all Think it wise to just let the Clarke thing play out as too many stories out there. Some say deal was done weeks ago but needed more medical tests and some just keep moving the price up and down. i do believe he will move but it could also be the fact that Clarke needs to guarantee that Pochetino will be there. Pochetino trusts Bielsa but if he goes the new guy may just leave Clarke with the kids? I hear Barnsley were chasing Wilks so that may happen but only once Bielsa has seen Wilks in action over the next week or so.Selling Halme would be a big gamble IMO because we were short of a CB last season and promoted Halme to the first team squad. If we bring White in we get that cover in the first team but what about the U23s who have just let Diaz go. We would be down to only Struijk unless Kitching is coming back and we just let O'Connor go too.
Good Morning to Matt Doc and co from a dull Bardsey seems the sun is stationary over Europe Halme and Wilks will be loaned to Barnsley It seems that Costa and White will be signed this week so we are left with ODowda and a keeper as Luke Freeman will sign for the blades
Nobody is doing any deals as i have mentioned earlier due to the impact of FFFP rules, so going to be slow for a while yet. However some may see Stoke City doing 5 in a day yesterday but have a closer look as they only spent £2m due to freebies in the main. Now when you see the Stoke squad which is filled with high earners, just watch some of those players moved out to save money, and Stoke are on parachute payments too remember.
I agree with what you say Doc only Lindsay from Barnsley at £2m was spent the rest including Gregory were free.Buffon going back to Juve
Need to clarify the term "upfront fee" here because if this is right it will be the normal fee spread over 3 years with add-ons being at agreed time posts.
That’s what I heard yesterday. Radz dropped the asking price for more up front. Reported yesterday as 8.5 million in full plus the add-ons over time.
Clarke had a decent dozen sub games, didn't do much the couple he started, went off against Boro and hasn't been the same since, even for u23's, lots of observers stating how he struggles to play a full 90 minutes, no way is he ready to play for a team that has Champions league aspirations each year. I think this is a bad move for Jack Clarke and see no improvement for the Srurs team, can't imagine he'll get a Premier league start for the term of his first contract, this could well be another case of "what happened to....." no logic to this transfer for any party involved, I think if we do get the £10m and it's spent wisely we could well be the only winner.
LUFCDATA@LUFCDATA Jack Clarke's career at Leeds: 25 matches 290 passes 107 final third passes 75.9% pass accuracy 56 duels won 33 ball recoveries 28 crosses 27/48 take-ons 18 shots 17 chances created 10 blocks 9 tackles won 6 shots on-target 4 crosses 2 goals 2 assists
Exactly what I was led to understand but if the £10m is all up front thats fantastic but wondering exactly what Phil means. Does he mean £10m all at once or does he mean £10m spread as normal over an agreed period meant as upfront with the remaining add ons being the second part of the deal. Clarity needed as words matter Up front usually means a first payment. So in this case up front means £10m cash now .... Or does it
