It wasn't a wum HIAG, please don't get overly sensitive.

The ones highlighted in bold are diatribe and waffle. Which leaves the other two reasons. The first is reasonable tbf as I think he is capable of getting your team so far (that "so far" is top 4 up until now).

The second point I don't see I'm afraid. Can you qualify your upward trajectory in the league? Include something about the number of points you acquired from January to May last season, as opposed to the number you acquired in the first half of the season to justify this trajectory.

(for clarity, please note wins in the CL do not add 3 points in the PL table mate)

HIAG getting his ‘posts likely to come back and bite me on the arse’ in early I see.

    16/17 - 2nd place - 86 points
    17/18 - 3rd place - 77 points
    18/19 - 4th place - 71 points

Upward trajectory? Don't apply for a job at NASA mate.

Nailed on for top 4 in fairness though.

I wouldn't say that, they only finished above Arsenal by one point and Emery was in his first season with Wengers players.

I also think the constant rumours around Poch leaving for some continental club will just get stronger next season. I can see a spiralling effect where any bad results will focus Poch's mind on considering his future, and that in turn will lead to greater inconsistency on the pitch. We've seen it building over the last couple of seasons but next season will be decisive imo.

Honestly see Chelsea as dropping back a bit though. Not just Hazard but the changes at the top and the added pressure of playing champions league football. Reckon they should focus on getting players like Loftus-Cheek and Hudson-Odoi nailed on playing time and buy in 2-3 other young prospects with the aim of being much stronger in a further year or two.

Haslam still doesn't realise he's been sacked from CFC player recruitment department.

  12. I'm not talking about points tallies; I'm talking generally about the entire club and it's ethos.

    • We finally have our new stadium - the best in the world
    • We have a first class youth academy
    • We have one of the best young managers in the world
    • We have stopped our "revolving door" managerial appointment policy = stability
    • We have one of the youngest squads in top flight footy that is also one of the most valuable
    • We have managed to keep that young squad together over many seasons = stability
    • We have established ourselves as top 4 perennials = higher revenues
    • We have a superb spirit that runs right through the club.

You have to have been supporting Spurs for a lifetime to fully understand why each of these things is significant, and why the combination of these things is electrifying for us supporters.

So, you see, when I talk of "trajectory," I am looking at the whole picture, not just points on the board.

We are written off for top 4 every season, including last season, when we played most of the season without a home and brought in no new players. Yet, we still finished top 4 and made it the CL final, beating some of Europe's best and richest teams.

The naysayers are not talking from fact, they are merely letting their bias and prejudice talk for them.

Heaven forbid we look at 'points on the board' when discussing who will finish top 4 <rofl>

But yeh... new stadium and superb spirit <rofl>

  15. As a United fan, it's best that you don't look at the points on the board, Tel.
