An article in the Mirror says he has been left out of their squad to prevent him from reinjuring himself on long flights around Europe. Stoke refuse to risk Woodgate on long-haul Euro trips Jonathan Woodgateâs stop-start career has taken another bizarre twist after it was revealed he has been left out of Stokeâs Europa League squad - to avoid clocking up too many air miles. The ex-England defender is desperate for games, having managed just four outings for Spurs in two injury-hit years before switching to the Britannia Stadium in the summer. But Potters manager Tony Pulis admitted the defender is sitting out the group phase of Stokeâs big European adventure simply because the club fear spending too long cooped up on aeroplanes could trigger a recurrence of Woodgateâs injury problems. The Midlands side are away to Dinamo Kiev of Ukraine on Thursday, and also face trips to Israel and Turkey for clashes with Tel Aviv and Besiktas. Huh? By doing what -sitting there?
Huh? By doing what -sitting there? -------------------------------------------------- DVT, or deep vein thrombosis. Cabin pressure does have effects on human tissue, thats why your advised to wear those stockings on long flights and to move regularly. First I've heard about injury prevention though, but at this point you can't dismiss it.
Notso- Yes DVT is a problem for a lot of people. Knowing Woody"s injury history, what injury would he aggravate?
Is there a part of his legs he hasn't injured? , lately it was high up groin area stuff, but he does have calf injury history. Not too sure on the exact effects, the missus is in Nursing, I'll have to ask her later.
You could just imagine it couldn't ya: Daily Fail: "Tottenham defender Ledley King has been ruled out for a month due to injuring is leg via DVT on the clubs journey to Rubin Kazan!"
Its a good point you raise PL, have Stoke discovered the root cause of all injury!...hope they don't get a pre-season tour of the Far East in future.
Flying back from the US in Economy is what ended Paul Lake's career. Which begs the question why Man City didn't pay for an upgrade, considering he was flying back after yet another ligament operation to try and save his career... And they'd still turn it into a "Modric to Chavski" story...

I remember that photo, we had a run of bad press in a year I think. We had Gio carried out of the Crimbo party, Ledders not getting on very well with bouncers, this photo on a night out, and Crouch again, head out of the sunroof of a taxi...thought he was just sitting in the passenger seat myself! Woody's eyes! ...must have took one or two...gooduns an all!
