Let me qualify my top 4 prediction. United will finish second if:- (a) they manage to off-load Pogba (b) they manage to secure a new deal for Rashford (c) they manage to secure a new deal for De Ghey (d) they get in two top players who are able to hit the ground running If they don't manage any of that, they won't finish top 4. If they manage only some of those, they will struggle to finish top 4. If United don't make top 4, I reckon it will push us up into 3rd, and I reckon Arsenal and Chavs will fight it out for 4th (with Chavs being firm favourites).
It's only because @Saintmagic cannot bring himself to believe that Spurs will march triumphantly onwards, again, next season, Bruv. But yeah - Arsenal!
My thinking, at this point in time is - yes, in that order. But, as I made clear, much depends on what United do during the rest of the Summer, Luvvy.
If it depends on what teams do in the Summer then it's all a bit pointless, yes if Utd sign Messi and Suarez they'll do better. If Southampton sign a Oil rich gezzer with billions they might win the league.
It's why I haven't done this as a poll, Libby. Thinking will undoubtedly changed as we move out of the close-season, and the season kicks off. You are free to change your mind later. What you lads have to do is stop confusing me with Pixie. I understand that not every opinion expressed on a chat room such as this is intended to be written in stone, and that views can change over time.
Possibly. However, I think we can be pretty certain as to what the top 4 is going to look like. Sure, the positions (except for City) might change, but the usual suspects are likely to play a major role. As I said in my reply to Libby, above, thinking could well change as we move forward. This thread isn't just for today, Luvvy, but for life. Yeah?
I just don't get the Utd thinking they are not looking good and there's nothing to suggest that they are going to go nuts in the window and you have them 2nd. If it's a wum attempt it's pretty lame?
Newcastle are going down. We have Championship level players, we'll get in a below par Championship level manager and we have an owner who will allow spending of less than most of the Championship. But we're lucky to have Ashley, he is our saviour. Last one out, please turn off the lights. I can also see Norwich going down and Brighton. City will win the league and I don't care who else comes in the top 4. It's not a medal lads, you win or you get nothing.
Fair play, I get why the teams involved care about getting into the top 4 but I don't buy into the idea that other fans do. When Liverpool played Chelsea at the end of the 2002(ish) season on the last day of the season to decide who got 4th spot were you watching on the edge of your seat or not really caring like most other fans?
