https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48746689 I just wanna say... We've a newkie lad here in the office. he's quite upset. These new owners or Cashley must be the biggest morons ever to let rafa walk.
No real surprise. Wonder if he goes to China, been offered decent retirement fund over there so couldn’t argue against him taking that
Austria v Germany under 21s match... Keeper catches ball but leads with his knee taking the attacker clean out in the process
I reckon a load of newkie fans are going to be upset as he was worshipped but in all honesty he had Newcastle so defensive there will be a few happy with this. If the aim is to just stay up Rafa was great for the job. Tactically astute and knows exactly what he wants. If they want to see a bit more progressive football then its not the end of the world.
bar all the trophies he's proven he can win and goals that Liverpool etc scored... sure. You just, not in so many words I'll admit, called Rafa fat Sam allardyce there mate. rafa has done a fine job keeping them up
Bobby is a Chelsea fan, he's not going to be a Rafa cheerleader is he? Just like you'll be hard pushed to find a Liverpool fan that doesn't like Rafa.
suppose.... but still he won europa there in spite of terry, fat frank and the mafia there throwing games out of spite.
He can win trophies sure and he wasn't too bad for us and really excelled at Valencia. However hes a pretty pragmatic manager at the best of times and with a lower talent pool at Newcastle he was even more pragmatic. In general the Newcastle fans loved him because he's overachieving with the club. However there are a few who are glad hes out because they hope for a way where the team plays in a more adventurous manner. You can't honestly believe Newcastle go out to attack teams? I don't think I've said anything unfair about the style of football he's employed
Newcastle tipped to be relegated after losing manager Rafa Benitez Newcastle fans will be fearing the worst after the club announced that Rafa Benitez will quit his role as manager when his contract expires at the end of the month. Benitez, 59, has spent just over three years in charge at St James’ Park since replacing Steve McClaren in March 2016 and is believed to have finally ran out of patience with owner Mike Ashley. Speculation over Benitez’s future has been gathering momentum for the past 12 months, with no signs of an agreement between the Spaniard and the club. Newcastle made Benitez a new offer, but were unable to give the former Valencia, Liverpool ,
With the top teams pulling further away, Newcastle's (and from the fans perspective) priority will be avoiding relegation. Rafa can do that. The next priority is getting better players and pushing on. Looks like either Ashley isn't putting his hand in his pocket or the takeover is real and Rafa isn't taking any chances that he'll be shown the door. Feel for the geordies with the uncertainty. Been there, done that.
he didn't have a Torres, a Gerrard. he had what he had when relegated and what he could scrape up. he's the ONE manager who proved imo he could do it with **** all and could do it with money too. for the record they only attacked at home and were very much try to get a point away. there's not a lot a manager who s going for 10th to 15th can do bar be pragmatic frankly.
yup. rafa could have walked many times over last two years but stood up and was counted and kept club up. in the end his contract is up and apparently the stupid ****s want avram grant.. if anyone dares to say grant is better than rafa at anything bar looking like a frog... just **** off
Rafa did well for us and a lot of other clubs, but I believe his style of management and play style is out of fashion. Hes not as bad as Mourinho, but he is somewhere inbetween
