That's 6 wins from the last 7 races for Hamilton. Good luck trying to stop him winning his 6th world title.

Murray/Lopez win doubles at Queens...good to see another GB player Salisbury (with Ram) on other side of net. Useful money for him.

Lopez - unbelievable! The amount of matches he's played in the last few days is ludicrous! Well done to Andy on a fine comeback but the hero of the week has to be Lopez.

Not won anything for 2 years and already taken a job as a tournament director, so a last hurrah. I hope not....too good surely to give up....you can't come back in a few years and wish you hadn't given up so early. I liked his comment to his fiancée...that she'd only seen him win nothing and now he has proved to her that he can play tennis. :)

I found the enthusiasm to watch yesterday's Formula E race. It was darn sight more interesting than I remember F1 being, but I still dozed off for about 5 minutes. Old habits.

Doubles seems to be a UK strength. Perhaps the Men´s and Mixed Wimbledon titles could be won by UK players. As for the singles, Barty seems good while I feel we will have a new winner in the men´s singles.

As commentators keep pointing out, most amateur tennis players in the UK play doubles and enjoy watching doubles matches. Some of the most enjoyable games are often the doubles and although competitive they seem to be played in better spirit than some of the singles....especially the mixed doubles. And once you get into the format wheelchair doubles are fantastic...more so than the singles. I'm glad that the doubles are being played properly at Wimbledon...not the foreshortened version seen in the ATP. I'm pleased that Andy and Feliciano :emoticon-0110-tongu won yesterday but Salisbury and Ram deserved to play a third set after taking the second...not a glorified tie break (even though I appreciate that it got the game finished).

Anyone here feel that we are going to witness a good summer for the Aussies, with OZ winning the cricket world cup - India and NZ are close, Barty wins the singles at Wimbledon, and one or two of them gain success in the doubles. I feel Oz Will retain the Ashes now they have the best batsman (Smith) in the world. Add in the golf, the athletics and then the rugby world cup?

I think Sky (other TV channels are available) should be banned from mentioning when Australia beat England at cricket....one terse announcement the minute the game finished and then a complete news blackout will be quite sufficient.

It pained me to say that about Oz but get your money on them to lessen the pain of them winning. Anyhow, you and I have more important things to be worried about, but that is for the politics thread.

Do you know what I have learned in life....everything passes. I see old newsreels and remember things that I got terribly stressed about....and have now forgotten. Adjustments are made...and we all move on. Not suggesting that we can ignore climate stuff...but politics...pff and it's gone.

The LTA have announced that they plan to build 96 indoor tennis facilities over the next ten years with the aim that most people in the UK will be within half an hour of such a facility. This is important if you want to spread the game because unlike football you can't play tennis without proper facilities....can't just go into a field to play a few sets. The intention is also to introduce more kids to paddle tennis which is very popular on the continent. Anything to get kids off their sofas and off the streets....sport (even at a purely amateur/casual level) can change lives by socialising children, keeping them healthy and awakening their brains as well.

Of course it would also be nice to win Wimbledon more often than once in a couple of lifetimes. :)

Aussies won't win the Rugby World Cup. I'd put 4 or 5 teams above them for that.
