4 was about right for Obertan!, everytime he got the ball he just stood with it, when someone has that much pace you expect them too run at defenders everytime they get the ball, it was fustrating watching the few times he got the ball!

    Krul 6 Simpson 7 Taylor 8 Colo 7 R Tayor 4 Obertan 3 Cabay 5 Tiote 5 Jonas 5 Best 5 Shola 3.

That was awful last night and another repeat in a PL game and we will get hammered. Ditch 2 up front until we've actually got 2 PL strikers. 5 man midfield and 1 up front to start all games home and away, otherwise we'll drop down that division like a stone.

Oh and play Santon, R Taylors luck is running out at LB.

Obertan looked disinterested and at times his positional sense and off the ball work was so awful it almost seemed like he didn't want to get passed to at all...

    As for his tracking back...

    I'd give him a 5 overall

I'm sorry but what in his time here has Obertan created? He runs with the ball, and then passes back. Poor options and some poor players around him yes but he doesn't really get at the defence and struggles to take people on. Marveaux has to start on Saturday.

    Agree totally.

Shola, Obertan and (forgetting the 2 goals) Raylor don't deserve a starting role any time soon..

Obertan created the second goal in the Fulham game, a great opportunity for Best in that game as well who shot straight at a defender with Cabaye and Lover waiting. He delivered a brilliant cross to Shola in the derby, who managed to miss a header from inside the six yard box, and he played in Cabaye in the Arsenal game, who lost his footing in the box.

    Knee jerks.

It's not really knee jerks though. 3 starts and he hasn't really impressed me. In the moments I have seen Marveaux, he has impressed me and I know he is better than Obertan so deserves a start.

We can't continue to be nice to players because of a few good moments. Its like people saying Raylor should stay in the team because he hasn't done much wrong. Santon is clearly more suited in that role so should be ahead of Raylor. And I do not agree with people saying he should go right back, Simpson is the more suited right back, and just because he hasn't scored 2 free kicks, he should not be seen as the worse player.

They kind of are though, he's done well and if Marveaux starts and plays poorly v Villa they'll all be saying Obertan should be back in the side and should never have lost his place.

Agree about Raylor though, have been saying that since Santon signed.

    On the subject of Simpson...

Didn't half up his game against QPR, coincidence or a consequence of us signing a new full back?

I consider 'doing well' as contributing to creating chance after chance and getting in good positions, this I don't feel he has done. He's done well defensively(taking the ball away from the defence with his pace) but then it comes to nothing.

However, I do feel sorry for him in a way as I said, he has some poor players playing around him not offering enough options. Our strikers are so ****ing lazy its unbelievable.

Another point, people say we are playing bad yet still picking points up. In hindsight its a good thing, but we haven't played anyone of real class yet, we'll get demolished when we do as I fear we aren't capable of anything better than what we are delivering at the moment. Pardew wants pace, he can whine all he want about the transfer window, but his rants should have been made 2 weeks before the end, not 2 days after, he needs rid of Shola and Best as our main strikers. We need some pace up there.

Smudger has stated all the creative play he has done so far and with the little attacking we have done...I am happy with that. I think he has been okay, but nothing more and certainly nothing less. I would like to ask you, as a creative force, what has Jonas done? Nowhere near as much as Obertan!

It worked with Gutierrez. We signed Ben Arfa and he upped his game, Ben Arfa got injured and was **** again. I wonder what he will be like when Ben Arfa resumes full training.

He's back in training now (<diva>!) so very little by the look of it. Might take until the Forest game when Benny makes his comeback

Disagree massively there about Jonas. He may be ****, but I seem to remember him getting in a good position to have a shot(although weak) against Sunderland, then receiving the ball straight back after it was cleared to win the free kick with some great foot work in which we scored from. Last night as well, he was in good positions to cross the ball, some good crosses as well and got in the position to shoot but the shot was blocked.
