Just imagine what would have happened to you if you walked in a Trump Base get together wearing a t shirt saying "lock Trump up!"
They just attack independent journalists and photographers. No T shirts needed. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-47208909
The response on Planet Gammon was creepy, too - forget that the police were called, forget that the police initially attempted to deny they were called out, the real crime here is somebody recorded their neighbours having an argument
I stand by what I said and legally, I don't think he has committed an offence. One is allowed to protect ones self from any perceived threat using reasonable force. There was a case going back many years when a guy was acquitted of stabbing a person in self defence because the assailant was wearing a ring, which glinted in the sun and the defendant considered it possible that this was a knife. It is all about perception, if he though that he was under threat then the video shows he used an adequate amount of force to remove the threat. There was no punching, kicking, nothing like that. Political correctness has gone far too far if one is not allowed to protect his/her self.
Most couples having a domestic don't end up with Torygraph columnists posting creepy things like this... Funnily enough, her comments drew ridicule from people not named Toby Young
The police lying to the public is not a mountain out of a molehill A journalist asking the public to dox Boris Johnson's neighbours is not a mountain out of a molehill
If he has committed an offence his girlfriend should report him. If she hasn't, then it's all a molehill to me.
It's not a private conversation if you're shouting and screaming loud enough to be heard from next door. Boris is unsuitable for a wide variety of reasons, but this journalist's attempt to defend him is probably worse than all of them.
They wouldn't have to say anything in the first place if he wasn't yelling and smashing things in the small hours, would they?
Sorry DD, but you haven't got the foggiest notion about Domestic Abuse and how bringing offenders to Justice works. And whilst on the subject and to save a separate message.... The video of Field clearly shows him aware of the (non-existent) level of threat posed to himself or others. That's his Defence gone out of the window for starters... He was playing Billy BigBollocks to his mates.
Except the full quote paints a different picture. They heard shouting, knocked on door 3 times - no answer, then called Plod. Decided that public interest warranted passing to media. Initial reporting 100% correct. Passing to media more subjective, but not wrong in circumstances, just because Plod don't take formal action. If I was the neighbour and had heard a cry of 'help' from either party, I would have intervened, otherwise I would have left them to sort it out themselves. If any neighbour tried to interfere when we are having a domestic, and trust me they are loud, My missus would floor them and tell them to mind their own business.
