thought you were in favour of VAR because this is what it leads to in that everything becomes a "matter of fact" if it involves "lines".
And people thought there would be nothing to discuss after VAR lmao I am literally working backwards Thought it would be great now I am still certain it is better but some real dodgy stuff going on lol
Oh come off it mito, I don't think I've ever commented on a single player they've bought before. I have no idea how good he is or isn't. If you and Everton fans are pleased with the signing, great. I don't care either way Edit: I remember commenting on Richarlison. Some, including me, thought he was overpriced.
Its very clear to me that its being used to ensure certain teams stay in to make sure theres crowds for rest of world cup. in short FIFA have corrupted the system.
Its the fact that everyone can see the call being made is very very dodgy and deliberately favouring certain teams consistently. I've now stopped watching women's world cup. its fixed.
It's sunny out, I don't want to waste my summer wishing for autumn - but yeah, I do miss it when there's no footie.
Tbh I have struggled watching it Firstly I really can see where you coming from about decisions MIto Second the standard is pretty low which I wouldn’t mind if they admitted it but there seems to be an agenda but not going into that. Thirdly I keep hearing how the women don’t dive etc etc There have been many dives and a lot of disrupt towards refs so all in all it is like watching AFC Fylde for me Which is fine but it is not gripping Hoping if I stick with it it will get better
One thing that helps the US is that it is NOT a traditional football playing nation. I know when I was growing up, there weren't many girls playing football because that was a boy's sport... I moved to the US and more girls were playing than boys. The US doesn't have many girls sports compared to boys sports. In England most girls go off to play Netball or Hockey (at least they did when I was there) and the boys played football or rugby. Over here there are a plethora of boys "sports" they can join in school: baseball, basketball, American football, lacrosse (in Northern Eastern states) and golf. Football in the US for boys is drowned out by other sports and doesn't have the specific label of "boys sport" it did when I was growing up in England. Girls typically play volleyball or softball, neither of which are as dominant as the big there for boys sports... That leaves more room for girls to play more traditionally male sports too, like football, basketball, and golf. Without the label of a boy sport, and with the lack of real competition from other girl sports... Football became a much more popular option for girls here than it is in other countries that have traditionally labeled it a boy sport. Countries like Canada, Australia also do well in girl's football compared to men's teams... It's because they have the advantage of it not being labelled a boy sport because there are fewer boys that play it in those places.
Thanks for the sensible answer. I only wanted to know if he was a good player and value for money. As said by someone before, price tags don't mean anything these days.
No problem. He gets my highest praise, in that id happily see him at liverpool. Think of him as an alonso lite type of player
He became a fans favourite very quickly, as he’s got genuine class. He can make that crucial half a yard of space in a crowded midfield and get the ball moving forwards. At £22m in the current market that’s bonkers as I fully expected that we’d struggle to land him permanently tbh. If we can add Zouma, I’ll be delighted.
Obviously i have seen less of him than you but my view was that he is a good "player" thoughbut i thought his lack of mobility was a problem with him as he often seemed to get "bypassed" in games .
His weakness is his defensive contribution, but I wouldn’t say he was lacking mobility & I watched Gaz Baz for years mate lol.
He's a great but for your lads, I watched a fair few Everton games last season and I thought he stood out. Definitely has that bit of class to his game, good in a tight spot and always seamed to have time on the ball. I'll be honest, after watching him, I thought he'd put himself in the shop window and there would be a host of clubs after him. You've done very well to land him, never mind at the price quoted.
