Shamelessly nicked from the Hull City Fans Forum Facebook page. It appears new members have to pay a full year if they cancel. You still have to give two months notice though. A quick check of the new conditions doesn't say what happens if you die before the 12 months is up. Presumably your estate would be liable for the full payment.

The terms and conditions can be found here:

    https://www.hullcitytigers.com/wp-c.../Membership-Terms-and-Conditions-draft-v3.pdf

"The new membership terms and conditions make very interesting (and long reading). It appears that new members to the scheme, from 1st July onwards, are tied into a 12 month period rather than the previous 2 months under the current scheme.

The club are advising people to consider taking legal advice before committing:

2.3 Upon commencement of the Membership Agreement, each Member will become bound by legal obligations as to the use of any Seat(s), the conduct of the Member and any Additional Members, to pay any applicable Joining Fee(s) on the Membership Commencement Date and to pay the Monthly Fee thereon for each month of the Term. If a person has any doubt about the meaning and effect of the Application or these Conditions that person should consult a solicitor or other legal adviser.

    Termination by members:

6.1 Any Member whose Membership Commencement Date is before 1 July 2019 may terminate their Membership Agreement or remove any Additional Member from the Membership Agreement at the end of any full calendar month by giving the Club not less than two full calendar months’ notice, save that if an Additional Member is added by the Member on or after 1 July 2019 in accordance with condition 2.7, that Additional Member will be subject to a Minimum Period and therefore cannot be removed before the end of their Minimum Period other than in accordance with condition 4.6(1) above or condition 6.3 below.
6.2 Subject to condition 6.3, any Member whose Membership Commencement Date is on or after 1 July 2019 may terminate their Membership Agreement with effect from the expiry of the applicable Minimum Period or at the end of any full calendar month thereafter by giving the Club not less than two full calendar months’ prior written notice. Example: If your Membership Commencement Date is any day in July 2019 and you wish to terminate your Membership Agreement, the earliest date on which you can terminate your Membership Agreement will be 31 July 2020 PROVIDED THAT the Club receives your termination notice in writing before 1 June 2020. If the Club does not receive your termination notice in writing until a day in June 2020, your termination notice would not be effective until 31 August 2020.

6.3 If the Membership Agreement is terminated and, as at the Membership Termination Date, theMember or any Additional Member is still within their Minimum Period, the Member shall pay on demand an Early Termination Fee in respect of each such member save for any member who the Club agrees to enter into another membership agreement to begin on the day immediately following the Membership Termination Date.

Also be aware of a potential admin fee affecting concession members:

The Club may charge an administration fee of £25 if any Member or Additional Member:
    (1) becomes a Concession Member during the Term; or
    (2) ceases to be a Concession Member during the Term; or
    (3) is a Concession Member and changes to a different category of Concession Member during the term.

Just realised my post may cause some confusion. It isn't a rolling 12 month charge, just a minimum payment for the first year.

A new member who cancels in the 11th month and gives the required two months notice will have paid 13 instalments .

    What a joke.
    very attractive marketing plan.

Terms & conditions re delivery of emergency/disaster oriented generators:

Full payment 2 years in advance of disaster.
Non-refundable in case of no disaster within 2 years of full payment.
Equipment delivery will be no earlier than 3 months after disaster strikes.

So you pay for a year in the first year of joining, just like a season ticket.

Surprisingly, not withstanding any other **** thrown in which detriments it, that sounds reasonable to me.

Can't be arsed to read it. So feel free to correct me where I'm factually wrong. So you sign up for a minimum of a year, then after that year it goes to 2 months cancellation?

A season ticket at most none membership based clubs (i.e.the other 91 clubs in the league) works the same for the first year. You sign up for a year, and you make the commitment to go for a year, or lose money. The option is to pay per match. Signing up for a year and not going is straw mannish as an argument against the membership.

I'd rather not have this ****ing stupid membership personally and go back to season tickets, but I guess thats just me.

The club has spent years saying this is an easy in/easy out scheme. It is now only that after an upfront twelve month commitment. That is a significant change that the club simply hasn't communicated to anyone thinking about signing up from 1 July onwards. Par for the course I suppose.

    This is the main issue
I couldn’t believe it wasn’t done like this from the start, and actually I think it’s reasonable, just the same as gym memberships (apparently!) phone contracts and errr...well old style season tickets really!

The issue as usual is lack of communication stemming from a lack of giving a **** about fans

Have they just worked out that if you start paying Aug 1st and the cancel end of Mar with the two months notice that gets you to the end of the season, 10 months.

Can't remember what was the charge to renew after cancelling (25 quid ? ) it could be that there is a small chance to save a few quid by paying 10 months, cancelling then renewing at the start of the next season.

How many supporters actually get to every home game ? (and don't gift their pass/membership to others if they can't make a game).
What's the saving by getting a membership as opposed to the equivalent (23 home games) walk-in cost ?

Wasn't your season pass transferable with the club's consent if you could no longer attend?
