Unfortunately I can't see Ryan Noble making the grade with us....

Shame because he seemed good, just a bit light weight for the prem.

How do you know that? How many times has he played for us in the first team? We were quick to off load Martyn Waghorn at 20 years old for a quick buck but there he is now, popping up scoring for the England under 21's the other week. He was never really given an opportunity either after a prolific spell in the reserves.

Why are we all so reticent about giving our own a chance over some of the greedy ****ers like Gyan and Bent. I cant see Waghorn or Noble chucking their toys out of the pram and ****ing us over at the first opportunity. Perhaps its time we looked inwards not outwards for solutions and at least you wopuld get loyalty and commitment from these lads.

TBH Cest I believe we needed the money for Waghorn to buy Gyan (I know!!) but as for Noble - he certainly knows where the goal is - he's a clinical finisher (have watched him a few times in the reserves) - Does need to bulk up a little bit but he's the sort of player we could do with on the bench ATM as he knows where the goal is and isn't scared to put his neck on the line to score (unlike some)

I've watched Waghorn a few times and he had the build but was never really that next level - I think Noble is a better player (all about opinions though)

Marcus - I used to go to the reserves (youths prior to that) 2 years ago to watch the new talent emerge. I saw Henderson, Waghorn, Colback and Luscombe really look like a conveyor belt of talent. Ryan Noble was a year or so younger than them when he burst onto the scene but straight away he looked like a goal scorer to me. He is a fantastic finisher and clinical too. He can tap in, volley, shoot form range and head the ball but he needs games at the top level to develop now. He has had his spells out on loan and at 19, he should be on the bench at least. i think he could make the grade and as for bulk, I dont remember Michael Owen being that big of another young lad who came for the lower league a few years ago Ian Rush? He was skinny and lean but as I recall he could still knock the odd goal in now and again. Lol

Its not always about bulk and strength. Guile, pace and skill are the factors I like to see most. Noble has all 3 of the latter for me but I can see him leaving the club soon to develop his career and that would be a shame for both him and especially us IMO.

For Christs sake, the lad hasn't even had a chance and we are writing him off......

Incidentally, I am about 95% sure the lad has a broken back, very similar to the injury that Richardson was carrying for so long.

Who's that aimed at Aussie? I certainly haven't written the lad off - think he has a massive amount of ability and totally agree with Cest he should be on the bench - I personally think he could do with a little more bulk but otherwise he has all of the attributes to make it - As Cest says - skill and guile and pace are important - we only differ in thinking about the lightweight side of things - I may be wrong (ask my wife, it happens!!) - Just my opinion...

Personally he'd be on the bench straight away for me

I may have written him off, but that is with Bruce in charge....

If Bruce fancied him he would of played and started last season when all other strikers were out. I feel Bruce has probablies stumped his growth...

and while being fast and lean, he does need to bulk up otherwise he will be bashed around.

I think he is injured, but last season I would have played him from the start, not 10 mins at the end. Furthermore, on FM I always loan Ryan Noble or play him when I'm manager of Sunderland.
