I know, you should be so so pleased that you now have Nicklas Bendtner leading the line.
In all seriousness, I think Bendtner is a decent player but I think 99% of honest mackems would take Demba Ba on a free transfer for competition. Ji and Wickham clearly not fully ready now in Bruce's mind (correct me if I'm wrong) and Bendtner comes perhaps high in self esteem but sub consciously low in confidence if that makes sense haha

I would not take Ba on a free transfer if it meant we would not be getting anybody else, he is poor, or at least he has been so far. If he was all we could possibly get then yes of course as we are short of bodies, it would be a shocking if he was all we could get though.

I wanted him at the time, and openly admitted it, but **** me he's ****.

Just shows, West Ham had a mini revival playing teams with nowt left to play for and he got a few goals, but when it's back to competition, he's been atrocious.

I don't think you can blame the Mags for signing him though, i thought he'd be a terrific buy for them, or us.

    Lucky escape.

I'll give him time but he looks **** so far. I think it is folly to write people off this quickly though. I said when we got him, ok back up as can be johnny on the spot but nowt special. His goal stats read well but he was playing for a contract knowing he had this release cause, and his general play was average. Play broke down a lot with him. Fingers crossed he can be useful at some stage, god knows we need it.

I agree he's been ****e so far, but to be fair, he was participating in Ramadan during his first few games, and yesterday was his first game where he would have been fully fit, and he didn't really get a good enough chance. I'd like to see him start on Saturday, get a few starts and then I will judge. He's always scored goals wherever he has been and do believe he can do it for us. Unfortunately, it just highlights our need for a new striker.

I still have faith in Ba. I mean really, how many games has he played this season, and most importantly, how many minutes has he played? It's way too early to make any assumptions about whether he's gonna be ****e or not. He might just need a little while longer. Some players do.

Bendtner has played infront of some of the worlds best midfielders in a very attacking side and still managed to look utter pants most of the time.

Please explain how he will suddenly start playing well now for your shower of ****e team which has scored 2 goals in the past 6 games?

West ham mates have said he'll do well if he is playing week in, week out. But if he is in and out of the team then you'll get nowt from him, He isnt a off the bench impact player.. So i think the jury will still be out on whether we've missed out or not.

To be fair, if we had Villa, Rooney and Messi...Pardew would probably still have Ameobi as the starting striker. <sigh>

Ba hasn't really had a chance yet, too early to criticise.

I must be in the 1% then cheik! I'm completely honest - I wouldn't swap any of your strikers for any of ours (Bendtner, Wickham, Ji, Sessegnon or Best, Lovenkrands, Shameobi, Sammyobi, Ba - sorry, I wouldn't swap any of them for any of ours regardless of Bests 2 goals!)

Ba has one assist to his name, in about 90 minutes of football this season.

Fernando Torres has 1 goal in a Chelsea shirt in what, 20/21 games?

SAFC have showcased about £30m worth of strikers this season and produced one lame effort between them in 450 minutes of football.

Of course you're going to say that you're glad you didn't sign Ba because he plays for your rivals.

Here's some more yet to find the net:

    Berbatov
    Tevez
    Drogba

Yeah, he might look ****, but judge a striker on missed opportunities and his goal record at a relevant point of the season.
