I hear Neymar's name far less than when he was playing in Spain. Point is that no one gives a single **** about the French league. He'll just drift into obscurity unless PSG somehow manage to get close to the CL and yet, because of the poor quality of the league, they're unlikely to get there because they only thump pub teams each week. He'll just play alongside other 'world class' greedy mercs picking up an easy pay check along the way (and regressing at the same time). If that's what he wants, he's entitled to take it - but claiming a move would be for his development is pushing it a little...You get better by playing against the best. Not playing with the best.

Times certainly do change, who'd have thought fans would not only accept it but defend the mercenary approach!

Times have certainly moved. China is where mercenaries go these days. The lad can go to the french league, win 6-8 pots without having his body overstretched, being rested when he needs to be rested, have a real chance at the CL, earn a gazillion doing so and still move on in 4 years at the ripe old age of 23.

Alternatively, he could come to the PL at 19, be absolutely battered by every lump out there, lambasted for every little error, be overplayed thus putting his future career at more risk of future injury....

The French league is easier. No question. But it’s also a league that will allow a 19 year old boy some breathing space under a decent coach atm. For me, he’s taking no risks....why should he? PSG are taking a huge gamble though.....

Dejan Lovren is edging closer towards a Liverpool exit, according to Football Insider, with the Croatian having now agreed personal terms with AC Milan.

Lovren turns 30 next month and he only has two years left on his current deal, and while there is no reason for Jurgen Klopp to usher him out of the door, if Milan make a substantial bid, it might be too good to turn down.

Would be remarkable getting £25m for him. 30 years old, injury prone, decent wages, and the fact he’s ****.
