I want to believe this, Charlton still belongs to Duchatelet though, so until that changes I expect him to own our club next season.
Is this whole story just convenient? The fans are getting worked up about the Bowyer situation, there is talk (mostly on twitter I grant you) of supporters sending season tickets back... protests restarting … season ticket renewals obviously not going well shown up by another extension of the early bird prices …. then what happens????? … a takeover story is leaked to the Welsh press?... (does anyone know anybody who lives in Wales who may be connected to the current owners cabal?) ….? I was thinking about this overnight and all the heat has been taken out of the Bowyer situation with this takeover story.... just seems a coincidence to me!.... no real takeover news then this when the clock is ticking on the Bowyer exit. TOMORROW IS FRIDAY PEOPLE!... AFTER WHICH LEE BOWYER COULD LEAVE!... REMEMBER THAT!
How could anyone forget. The story was broken in Wales, which suggests that Roland is not behind it. Whoever it is, they've persuaded the Standard and the BBC it is real, which only really proves that they don't know Roland as well as we do.
So now we are getting somewhere.... was Reams in contact with him Tuesday night or yesterday morning I wonder?
The person trying to buy our Club is for real. A highly respected football man with a lot of money. He is being severely dicked around by Duchatelet. RD wants the price of 33-37m paid in full. Wants further payments when we get promoted and on future player sales. Nobody is going to give into these demands. I can't see that this bid or any other is going to be successful. It is all deeply depressing. We need a new owner now. We need to sort out Bowyer, Jackson and Marshall's contracts ASAP or there is a real danger that they will walk. We also need to bring in about eleven players. The joy of the Wembley win has disappeared for me.
Obvious - to put public pressure on Duchatelet to conclude the sale. Perhaps Dalmat also knows a Millwall fan, and went for a beer meeting with him ? The Aussie camp has proved that NDA’s are not worth a sausage.
Nearly every source I saw yesterday could be traced back to this one story. It wasn't a question of a big story breaking, but one papaer (the South Wales one) announcing a possible takeover and the BBC/Standard/SkySports/DailyMalice all copying and pasting. None of which rules out a takeover. However, Dick Plumb PM'd Reams about this a while back, which suggests he has a good source, and now reports RD is dicking the buyer about, which is what RD does, and given Mr Plumb's previous record, suggest we can sit back and mope. This could be all part of the pull and bear actions of a typical takeover, but there was a quote (I believe it was ITTV from Reams contact) that said Dalmat has found dickering with Duchatalet like negotiating with a madman. Sounds about right to me.
If this falls through, we lose Bow, and plunge back to L1 none of this will be Roland's fault. Jim White will help him explain why it is everyone else to blame.
check ITTV - he's been writing to him and posted replies. The 60-40 against a takeover seemed to stem from there.
He does know him. Him and Reams wrote an article about Reams Dad Eddie May. Reams also posted replies from the Journalist saying it was 60/40 on the Takeover failing. The latest is that the person making the offer has said to RD, take it or leave it.
