Mr Birt was happy to pose with Torbett despite knowing he was a ***** apparently.

 

That was 3 years after he said Jock kicked Torbett up the arse. He didn't seem to mind posing with a man he said he knew was a nonce.

I thought the argument was that Birt accused a dead man who couldn't defend himself. Are you saying Stein was still alive when he accused him? Why didn't Jock defend himself then? And happily pose with a man who "lied" about him knowing?

 

No that's not what I said at all.

Birt gave his "evidence" long after Jock had died. Why Jock would tell him and no one else he had kicked Torbett up the arse will remain a mystery I suppose.

Let's not forget Birt had been sacked by Celtic, not that i'm suggesting he bore a grudge.

 

Maybe that's when the burden of "protecting the club" left and he finally felt free to talk?
