I believe Kiko to be the better keeper, just needs a few words. Maybe put some weights in his boots.

Given the rash of reckless actions on his part in the last few games, including a red card, what leads you to believe he is the better keeper?

To be honest, the defence was much better first half of the season bpf saved very few shots, and any free kick on target nearly always resulted in a goal, to the point where teams targeted free kicks just outside the area.not seen any stats, but would guess Kiko made more saves per game than bpf. That and watching them both.
Would sell both though to be honest, Westwood is better than both, and still not signed a new contract with the Wendy's so is free.

For a change well agree. If we are to be serious auto contenders next season, we need a lot better than both. Either one might do as a No 2 but doubt either will be interested in that after BPF's comments and we certainly couldnt afford to have a 30k a week keeper on the bench

    Saves:
    BPF 2.0 shots per game.
    Casilla 1.9 shots per game.

    Source: whoscored.com

They give performance ratings per match. BPF average rating was higher.

The shots per game figs are low, and their saves:goal ratios won’t be high either... as mentioned previously, the way we play, when we cough up chances they are often good ones.

Performance ratings mean nothing, as the team won a higher percentage early season, the ratings will obviously be higher.Kiko made mistakes last 6 games or so, but having watched the 2 I would still prefer him out of the 2,it's all opinions, there's them who put the main blame on Kiko, I put the play offs on Cooper and the other losses on lack of goals, so midfield and forwards. <confused>
But thanks for the stats, but must say very surprised.

To be honest I don’t know how they do their ratings, whether it’s a bloke with an opinion or some algorithm.

You can argue you it both ways I guess... that if the side does well the keeper gets plaudits for doing nothing... or if the side is doing badly, the keeper is busier and has more chance to get noticed.

Agree that ratings, and a lot of stats, are meaningless without context.

Forgetting keepers for a moment, What our stats in general show though is that there was precious little difference throughout the season in team performance. We just stopped taking the chances, probably made fewer good chances and pressed the self destruct button from Christmas onwards.

It was our conversion stats that Bielsa was shaking his head at since Christmas, but given he seems hell bent on getting a few wingers in (if the rumours are true), it would seem he shares the view that the Calibre of the final ball wasn’t up to scratch. Doesnt miss a trick that Bielsa.

I think casilla made mistakes every game, they just only came to haunt him towards the end of the season. I was at the boro game when he missed a regulation cross and flint missed a sitter, then proceeded to give several hospital passes.

But for sure it’s not all on him. Cooper and Berardi equally culpable for the derby fiasco, Bamford couldn’t hit a barn door etc.

But things don’t happen in isolation. When the sides miss chances it ups the pressure on the defenders, when defenders give soft goals away, strikers start snatching at chances etc. We choked, ultimately.

Looked up that site you put up, and found an interesting fact that doesn't really fit with the other facts.
    BPF saves 67%
    Kiko saves 74%
So going by that he saved more of the shots, which would make him better wouldn't it, doesn't really fit with the facts you put up, but probably why I think he's better

The ps is pass success rate not percentage saved... You need to go to the detail section to break down the figs for keepers.

Listed a few weaknesses though <laugh><laugh>

Casilla style of play “likes to come off his line”

    Can’t argue with that assessment<laugh>

And Kiko played fewer games, so overall, the percentage rate would be higher for kiko.

Kiko played fewer games, so overall, wouldn't kiko's saves per game be a higher average?
