You'd think with all the tests footballers have, that they would have picked up on any cardiac issues during his playing career. Just shows that even the fittest people can still suffer massive cardiac arrest.
It’s incredibly young for a fit guy to kick it. IMO, everybody 50 or over should have an ECG. If you have a problem that you don’t know about that should pick it up. The only thing it can’t detect is what’s known as electrical defects. After this maybe that should be 45?
I have a health MOT every year. It's free for anybody over 40. It checks BP, Cholesterol, Weight, blood sugar etc. I asked for an ECG and they did that too. Fortunately I am fine, I need to drop a bit of weight, but all my stats are well within acceptable levels for somebody my age (45). Most people who die from heart attacks have had no prior interventions with GP services for regular check ups etc. So hidden problems go undetected until BANG, you have a massive episode and die. I'm surprised that Justin Edinburgh's cardiac health wasn't picked up on earlier, footballers have so many tests. It seems odd that no issues were found given that he died from a massive cardiac arrest.
I see in the paper that Moureen has been talking to the potential buyers of Newcastle. As they will have a bottomless pit of money and would probably pay him 20 million a year it shouldn't be much of a surprise. They would be ****ing mugs to hire the **** though...
As long as they give him a max two year contract they’ll probably be good for it. He’ll likely win them a trophy in the first year or two, it’s just year three where he becomes super **** and ruins everything.
He’d do a fair job as an international manager maybe where his ego might get the job done without players having to suffer him for too long at a time. He has a unique ability to be regarded as a **** by just about everyone and is turning into an expensive Sam Allardyce in his old age.
Its good to see Southgate going with Spurs as the spine of his team, for the match against Switzerland. He should have done that against the Dutch, and we'd now be in the final. We'll win this one, lads. Trust me.
He'd be good for helping to attract big names initially. Problem is, they'll all be extremely expensive has beens on long contracts!
Fixtures out Thursday, be looking out for Norwich, Sheffield United and Villa away @Archers Road @SaintsForTheWin
Yeah, I think Bramall Lane and Villa Park are musts. WHL is top of the list of London grounds for me this season.
Might go to Norwich despite it being in the arse end of nowhere and take about 8 hours to get to. Will be a proper relegation 6 pointer though so could be a laugh
