The Men's 5000m. The title has the race over 50000m, I was pretty disappointed when the didn't show the other 45000m of the event. I love these distance races.
How long are the cricketing authorities going to continue with these stumps/bails in WC2019? Another instance today with the Aussie opener Warner playing on at pace but the bails not dislodged. Crazy situation, the batters have enough in their favour already.
Chan, it's unlucky for it to happen the once, sometimes things like that can happen, I've seen it myself where a bail has come out of it's groove and amazingly fallen back into it's slot. But it's happened 6 times now, so they really do need to address this very soon. Just cut the ridge holding the bails a little shallower, the wind wont blow em off as a ball hitting the stumps isn't at the moment...!!
Hi Red. Yes I've played in the odd match where the ball has grazed the stumps and not dislodged the bails. But did you see Warner's yesterday? The ball cannoned into his leg stump and went a further 2 yards after it hit it. That's ridiculous and it's happened on 4/5 occasions this tournament already. They'll have to change them or risk ridicule later on in the tournament if it happens at a key moment. As regards the tournament itself the Indians looked very good yesterday. I think they'll win it but I hope they don't.
One wag suggested Warner might have been using wood glue. After all he's got previous for joinery paraphernalia .
If the weather stays good and the tracks dry up then the Indians will take some beating with their batting and bowling line up. I just about make us fav's at the moment, home advantage and all that, but once we get down to the top 4 teams then in reality it's anyone's guess... England, India, Aussies and Windies would be my 4, but we will see... Yeah, I did see Warner's non dismissal, crazy to see them not even budge from their grooves. I think the ICC need to act fast, regardless of the razzamatazz of flashing bails and stumps going off when hit...
The 100 or so podiums of the 2020 Olympic Games in Japan will be made from recycled plastics. Why bother, why not just throw it into the ocean? Heaps of people are into it now.
Some of the big guns rolled up for the Women's 1500m in Rabat and put on a real show. This was clearly the highlight of the meeting. Gotta love it when champions clash.
With the Diamond League is underway, and my addiction to the track,I thought I'd chase down a few world records. Men's 100m. Usain Bolt. 9:58. 16 August 2009.
