This randomly occurred to me on my drive me just now, about how it's funny how things turn out certain ways. Last season, following a 5-1 pasting in the derby, we could hardly have been at a lower ebb. Remember the atmosphere in the first half of the following weeks home game, like a morgue. We took an early lead, and there was an atmosphere of, 'it's not right, but it's ok'. Steed missed a penalty, it was a ****ing morgue, again, even at 1-0 up, worse than at kick off. Half time was eerily quiet in the North Stand, i recall, the only time last season, that i sunk 3 flat ciders at half time with my pie of wonder (i'd ****ing kill for a SOL balti reet now!). Second half, cagey, edgey, uncomfortable, Catts handballs on the line, we get lucky, Gyan scores a superb second, we come alive sing out the match, the players stay on a while longer at the end, not to milk the applause, but to applaud back, knowing they had torn our hearts out the previous week. Here we find ourselves a derby defeat and a catalogue of bollocks into the new season, with that feeling that we have to get it right this week, or the fallout will be unrepairable, similar to that weekend last year. 2010 Sunderland 2- 0 Stoke City 2011 Sunderland 2-0 Stoke City? That's where my 20 euro is going. WE ARE SUNDERLAND.
Make sure it's a 'hotel' bar mate, or you'll be drinking fruit juice If you bump into Gyan, smack the ****er, i'll provide an alibi.
NO!! Don't go hitting him - we're all friends again. It said so in the press release, so it must be true.
Thanks lads, it'll probably be the novotel (abu-dahbi) still a strange feeling drinknig with all the smoke about, but a small mercy for beer and footy. I would "love it" if i did bump into to the twat!! haha
