I know where you are coming from but unlike Zola Budd and one or two other athletes, like Graham Hick or Greg Rudsedski, she has been here since she was a child so she has a right to being British. No different from Mo Farah, and I would not call him anything else but British through and through.
Djokovic knocked out by Thiem. Unfortunately I can see the final being a whitewash given Nadal's form and the lack of time Thiem has to recover.
Thiem into his second French final. Having beaten one great over 5 sets and two days, I hope he can go on and topple Nadal tomorrow. He has an eight year advantage and if he can move Nadal around, mix up his game, keep a cool head and have belief in himself he could win. I sincerely hope so. The last thing we need to see is Nadal´s strutting gamesmanship.
Until today, Thiem has had a reasonable time out there. He is 8 years younger, and if he can generate the shots that tweak Nadal´s injury prone áreas, he might just win. It is after all Thiem´s favourite surface. The daunting thing is looking at Nadal´s phenominal record at Roland Garros. Someone has to go out there believing they can beat him. Is Nadal that much better than Thiem? It is all in the mind. If Nadal does win tomorrow, we know that when Wimbledon comes around again, Nadal is beatable and is unlikely to win it.
Sorry, will actually start at 7. Looks like it could be pretty tasty going by the FP sessions, but I’ve thought that before and been wrong...
Brilliant from Vettel. Not sure what happened with Charlie L, but third is okay. Awesome from Dani Ric too.
I forgot I had a prior arrangement so missed it Should catch the race tomorrow for the first time in weeks though.
As I suspected Thiem has run out of steam. Stunning first 2 sets though where he matched Nadal shot for shot.
