I tell you what is also intersting to see on the poll so far, nobody fancies seeing Matty and McLean up together when I would have said pre-season these two would have been our dead certs to start every week.

If you expect Adebola to have played 40 odd games, when the season is 6 games old, you really are asking for too much!

Seriously though, you can only ever have a few strikers who are going to play that many games. Our 'main' strikers are Fryatt, McLean and Waghorn. But in the case of injuries, suspensions and bizarre patches of form (Fryatt) we will need that 4th striker. We might not need him right now, but he'll play a few games over the season. You're saying because other strikers have been preferred to him he must be ****, or unfit or whatever. You can have your expectations of how he might do, but until he plays the odd game you can't judge him properly.

Oh sorry fella, thought we were both singing off the same sheet???

But I make no apology for my comments or opinions on our worst signing under NP.

I'd like to think any fellow Pro would give their all for the team they choose to play for, they are not playing for peanuts after all. I could give my all too for quite a few grand a week but I would not be good enough and neither is DA.

I also think NP will probably regret signing Adebola now and had Waghorn been available before the season started then we may not have seen Dele come in. However, surely Dele will be on a wage predominantly made up of appearance fees? He will have been desperate to find a club so he can't be costing us much, even if he is only a plan D!

Mclean and Waggy for me, let Fryatt chill on the bench for a few more games then bring him back firing on all cylinders.

Not saying he is any good have not seen him play. But Abedola is in his mid thirties and from a stamina point of view should be at his peak not his nadir' he is 35? not 65!
Many marathoners (the ultimate test of stamina) are at there peak at this age. Just look at Haile Gebrselassie: "in September 2008, at the age of 35, he won the Berlin Marathon with a world record time of 2:03:59, breaking his own world record by 27 seconds" (Wikipedia quote).

Recognise that there are other physical qualities beyond stamina that are needed to play.

    That's a Scouse Nigerian!!!

Yes, I've often noted how Adebola, Barmby, Windass and Ashbee have all looked fresh as daisys come the 93 minute and leave the likes of Chester, Cairney, Brady and Evans trailing in their wake come the end of games!

He claimed he was a small child when he arrived from Lagos, but I have it on good authority, that he arrived sporting a beard and riding a Honda 750.

waghorn and fryatt for me..why is it if somebody plays bad, and they get criticised its a knee jerk reaction...yet somebody scores one goal, then hes in everybodies starting line up, and thats not a knee jerk??
it was a good strike, but that doesnt rule out the 30 odd other ****e games, fryatt is a far superior player imo, and should play.
