Deano's medal will be auctioned by Baitson's tomorrow, it's only got an estimate of £1-1.5k, but I suspect it will go for far more.

Think the club should buy it for the museum.

It's for a cancer charity. Great cause. Weldone Deano.

I agree with the above that our museum should bid for it.

Auctioneer thinks between £1k and £20k (all bases covered then) it should definitely be bought by the club, and put in a museum, with our other trophies. They renamed our trophy
    Cabinet.....the cabinet lol

I don't really get it.. If he wants to donate to charity he could just give them a few grand or something.. Why sell something that surely means so much?

I know selling a medal seems more selfless than simply giving cash but at the end of the day the charity would still get money.. that things priceless, if I was him I'd want to wear it on my deathbed <laugh>

I'd be surprised if it didn't get to £10k, if I wasn't in London tomorrow, I go along, just on the off-chance that no-one else did.

There does seem to be something odd about Dean auctioning his medal. I can understand it is a very worthy charity.
But it's the bit about, some of it's for his kids.Im sure his kids want for nothing. Could this be another daily fail misreport ?
With the money going to children with cancer or something.

Deano was definitely quoted as saying he wanted to give most of it to charity, with a bit going to his kids, which does seem a bit odd.

    Threads now merged. <ok>

It was not due go under the hammer until after midday, so it might not have gone yet, I assume someone from the Fail will tweet the amount once it's sold.

I've tweeted Phil Buckingham to see if he's there.
