It always seems to have been the unspoken intent of the so called “big” clubs in Europe to move towards a “protected” status akin to the situation in American Football of no relegation and guaranteed income inevitably to the detriment of everybody else. It looks as though the concept of a Super League is moving back to the front of the agenda.

When Clubs are committing to paying the likes of Hazard a reported £400,000 per week you can understand why they need to try and guarantee their income. Bottom line for me is it’s amazing how short sighted and greedy those in charge of the football authorities and so called “big” clubs are. It does mirror business generally where it seems the idea is that “big” is good and “small” is bad. Think of how all the supermarkets are getting bigger but are driving small businesses such as butchers, bakers etc out of business. Same will happen in football to a greater extent than it already is if a Super league is formed.

It could be important for all football fans to make clear to the authorities and their respective clubs that they totally oppose plans to mess up football for the masses as opposed to the tv audience and a handful of clubs. Too many people seem to obsess about Man U v Liverpool or Barca v Bayern or the like and fail to recognise good football can be played at any level.

Rant over but feel its important to highlight what is in the offing if we aren’t careful. Too many turkeys are willing to vote for Christmas in the hope that they might be one of the favoured few who get to feed off the scraps off the “big” clubs table.

For the direction we are heading take a look at how and when and where the Club World Cup is to be played. Great for Liverpool but great for football?

    Rant now over...for now.

It’s obscene all the money in the game right now. A few elite clubs are ruining it.

In other news can anyone give me an update on our takeover by Arab billionaires please?

Just got back and it’s wet and freezing. Went from 39c yesterday to 10c today.
