There's bound to be loose ends on the Kovacic/Courtois moves from last summer and Real paid us to keep schtum on how much Bale actually cost. So, that figure is probably rounded down to help their other transfer business/screw us over..

DL won't give a **** and will be asking for £100M+ and Bale and see what we end up with. Real will be expecting it and every penny helps!

Record (the Portuguese paper, not the Scottish one) are reporting that Bruno Fernandes' agent is in London today, so perhaps the talk of agreeing a deal was more than the assumed brinkmanship due to Betis' stubbornness/wanting to get the best 80% of the transfer fee they could

Lisbon-based news outlet ‘A Bola’ are saying Bruno Fernandes, who’s been strongly linked with Utd, Pool and City for weeks/ months, could be on the verge of signing for us as “talks intensified” in the last few hours.

Grab your salt shakers, guys.

Sessegnon has told Fulham he won't be signing a new deal and wants to join us this summer.

Whilst I'll happily take him, there's bigger priorities that I'd rather get done first. Wonder if Poch sees his future as a LW or LB though, think with good coaching he'd be a good flying LB. Besides, he realistically won't be ousting Sonny any time soon either should he join.

Today: L'Equipe suggest that we're looking to sign Fekir as an Eriksen replacement

Let's see if I can make this work even better: We're making an £85m bid to sign both Ndombele and Fekir, which Lyon begrudgingly accept

Portuguese Not-So-Rando/Vulture Watch
There's suggestions that Juventus are having problems meeting their FFP requirements, no doubt tied to some Portuguese egotist they signed last summer. It's also being reported that Juve are interested in Kieran Trippier. Hmm, if only there was a way that they could get Trippier while raising funds by having Joao Cancelo depart...
 
So is this Fernandes chap an alternative to Lo Celso?
If so, it sounds to me like the papers are just bored because Lo Celso is on international duty and hasn’t given them any further clarity over his future, so they’ve turned their attention to Fernandes. Seen this so many times before, which is why we end up being linked to every player in world football, every summer.

The 3 players that most outlets seem pretty “sure” on right now are:

Lo Celso
N’dombele
Sessegnon

I’m not saying I think these are dead certs, but they certainly seem the most legit/our favoured targets atm.

I’ve noticed there’s been very little talk of a RB replacement thus far.
I honestly think we’ll sell trippier and just go with Aurier and KWP next season.

I pretty much said the same thing when Fernandes' name first came up, presuming it might be us giving Betis a subtle hint that there's other options - although the talk of his agent being in London a day or two ago, coupled with the fact that there's no sell-on clause in Fernandes' contract (compared to the 20% one in Lo Celso's) makes it look a tad more credible

In terms of right back, we were linked with Nice right back Youcef Atal a few weeks ago but that's gone quiet, hence I use any excuse to point out that Thomas Meunier is available - or that cash + Trippier for Cancelo might not be as unbelievable as it would've sounded six months ago...

...reports in Turkey are suggesting that Fenerbahce are looking to sign Vincent Janssen this summer, and presumably this wouldn't be a loan deal given he's got a year left on his contract

The club has also confirmed that Dylan Duncan, Charlie Freeman, Tom Glover, Connor Ogilvie and Jamie Reynolds have left the club (although Ogilvie's a no-brainer, given he was confirmed as a Gillingham player two weeks ago)

Add to that Japhet Tanganga has joined Jack Roles in signing a new contract​
