With Mario now close or even done, it seems that Todd is nearing a new contract as well. https://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/city-chief-keen-for-cantwell-new-contract-1-6085848 It is great to take this team spirit and togetherness into the PL. These players know how each other work and that allows for the slick passing that made us so successful last season. Keeping it all together and even taking it further is the way to go.

Of those mentioned, Max Philipp is the only one who has raised a rumour. He's 25 and has good Bundesliga experience with Dortmund and can play as a striker, AM or out wide. He's played on the right, but as he's right footed, I suspect he'd play on the left for us to cut in on goal as well as providing another striker option. It could happen, but not sure how likely it is.
With the latest 'churnation' rumours about Godfrey in the blogs, this from SW makes good reading: "Webber added that none of City's young stars have been disrupted by the speculation either, saying: "All the conversations that I've had with them as individuals and their agents, there's no pushing from them. You can never say never. If one of the huge boys comes in then that conversation might change from their side or whatever. The brilliant thing about promotion as well, is that we're not going to go out and spend a lot of money but also we don't have to go out and sell. For the last two years we've been talking about who we are going to sell, how much for, how much do we need to raise? It's nice to be thinking that we've got our crown jewels and we can keep them, continue to develop them, continue to work with them." https://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwich-city/city-chief-confident-of-keeping-young-stars-1-6089611
A new rumour about RB from 'carrowroad.net': "NORWICH and Aston Villa are both tracking right-back Daniel Opare. The 28-year-old Ghanaian is at Antwerp. But he has just one year left on his contract at the Belgian club. And interest is hotting up in the in the former Porto and Real Madrid B defender. Two of next season’s Premier League newcomers are weighing up deals for Opare. He could cost just £500,000 this summer as Antwerp risk losing him for a free in 12 months’ time. Opare also had spells at Besiktas, Augsburg and Lens since going to the World Cup in 2014 with his country. Both promoted outfits are wasting little time in attempting to bolster their squads." The original source is the Sun though, then via HITC, so a grain of salt may be required for this one. The Pink'un has also picked up the rumour and given this 'verdict': "City could certainly do with some cover at right back to Max Aarons given the departures of Ivo Pinto and Felix Passlack. City sporting director Stuart Webber has stated how the club won't be splashing the cash this summer so to be able to bring in an international of Opare's calibre at a knockdown price could be tempting. Whilst Aarons had a stunning debut season, to have someone of the experience of Opare pushing him could be helpful to the Canaries."
Some excellent points from SW Rick - There's NO way he would even contemplate trying to sign Maupay (as reported by several journos!!), as he's far too expensive and IMO, he wouldn't fit the group and his wage demands would probably be way more than we are willing to offer. Great news and JM moving to Leicester for a season has acted as a bit of a 'traillbazer' for our youngsters. Had he moved to the likes of Spurs/Arsenal/Manure/Citeh a year ago, we might have got an extra £10M and he would have had a slightly higher weekly salary, but the best he would have had was a few appearances as a sub. Now, top managers are (allegedly) queuing up to sign him. I'm HOPING he'll go to Spurs or Liverpool!!
But spuds have Dele Alli who plays his position and whilst not hitting the highs of a couple of seasons ago, represents quite an obstacle to regular starts. Course Spuds more than the rest of the top 6 do not spend money, especially big money lightly. They would expect to start him. Bah!
He’s a class RB. Would be a perfect fit for our squad. Lots of pace, loves to bomb forward. I’d be surprised if he was available for as little as £500,000.
For once, I agree with HITC: https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2019/06/06/selling-ben-godfrey-now-would-be-bad-business-for-norwich/
Why would Teemu want to move after fitting so well into football here, winning almost everything on offer to achieve PL football? I could see this if we'd failed to get promotion but now it doesn't make sense, especially for the £15m they have to spend. "A Bola makes it clear that there’s nothing more than an interest so far, so Benfica are still to make an approach for the 29-year-old."
Meanwhile, Holty is very upbeat about our chances in the PL next year: https://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwi...l-city-can-become-established-in-pl-1-6090483
Another view on Daniel Opare: ://www.mediareferee.com/2019/06/06/norwich-city-would-pull-one-over-aston-villa-by-beating-them-to-sign-this-28-year-old-wall-for-a-meagre-500000/ He would also have an advantage in that he should have good english, which may not be true of Mehdi Zeffane, who's more likely to be french speaking. There's also the fact that Alex Tettey also comes from Ghana, even the same city, Accra. Both those things suggest he'd find it easier to fit in.
SW aiming to get transfers done as early as possible: https://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city...f-city-squad-settled-for-pre-season-1-6092239 There are also several references to how the Rhodes situation might be resolved.
Rumour Control latest - JM has ALLEGEDLY told Leicester that he wants to stay!!! https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...ite-Manchester-United-Tottenham-interest.html Bye Bye £5-6M (for now!!)
