David Ornstien on Radio 5 Live regarding Arsenal's summer transfer plans: "They’re looking for experience and youth in their recruitment. Their priorities are a central defender and a box-to-box midfielder. “There is a Barcelona link there with Arsenal’s head of football Raul Sanllehi and Umtiti is seen to be surplus to requirements at Barcelona but I don’t know.” Then, when asked about Bailly, Ornstein continued: “There’s been reported interest in him.” “Previously in January they came close to a deal for Christopher Nkunku from PSG. This is of course is to replace Aaron Ramsey [who is joining Juventus on a free transfer]. “[PSG’s] Adrien Rabiot is among the players they’ve tried to sign in the past and have a long-standing interest in but he’s quite a complex individual and has had some issues off the pitch. “As a secondary brief they’d be looking at a wide forward. In January they came close to a deal for Ivan Perisic and had interest in Yannick Carrasco. “Possibly a centre forward with Danny Welbeck leaving. Eddie Nketiah would then go out on loan if they brought a centre forward in. “There is interest in bringing in a left back and possibly a right back, but again, those are secondary to the central defender and box-to-box midfielder.”

Being linked to a couple of Centrebacks at the moment. Kosta Manolas of Roma for £31million. Not watched him that much but he's held in very high regard. 6'2 Calm and good in the air. Walter Kannemann for £11 million. Hot headed Argentine International.. He's aggressive and a ball winner. Similar in style to Sokratis. Not the most technical but could be a good signing for that money. Also Ismail Sarr is being linked as a replacemnt for Danny Wellbeck. I like this signing, he's strong and athletic and can play either wing or up top. He's basically a Danny Wellbeck who can finish.
Raul Sanllehi has come out and said we are going to continue with our self-sustaining model, and need to 'outsmart the market' I think its more likely we will eventually 'outsmart' the premier league and end up in the championship.
If we need to 'outsmart the market' then a good move would be to go for Diego Godin and Adrien Rabiot, both out of contract this summer.
I’d love to say free transfers, but lichsteiner did not exactly work out. When Liverpool were rebuilding, they signed Milner which I suppose worked out for them. But then again they also signed joe cole...
ARSENAL have launched a £37million double raid for Dennis Praet and Joachim Andersen this summer. Interesting business this. Praet is a Belgian International midfielder. He's a decent all rounder 6'0 tall 25 years old. Anderson is only 23 and is attacting alot of interest from other Clubs. He's a 6'5 talented back. Seems like good business to me but alot fans seem unhappy about the potential signings.
People are happy to get Andersen because he looks like a talented CB and he's tall too, which is obviously a big bonus, as for most of the season (bar Holding), all our CBs who have played are around 6 foot and no taller. Andersen would be a welcome addition. However, Praet is meant to be an attacking midfielder, yet he only got 4 goals and 3 assists this latest season, which is really poor whichever way you look at it. If he is meant to be our Ramsey replacement, I'm not holding out much hope.
Rumours that Xhaka is wanted by Inter and apparently a £55m fee has been agreed. (Don’t believe that number for a second)
can you imagine anyone paying £55m for Chaka I would love to be a sports journalist ... I could get paid for the **** I chat
Why don't you take him off our hands? We owe you one for Sol Campbell, and all the Arsenal fans would be fuming if you sign him , so it'd make sense. Swiss International, 26-years old, rarely gets injured, knows how to tackle )), good passer of the ball, decent long-range shot on him. You lot have got money to burn this Summer, and as we are living in times where wealth distribution is not fairly spread, you should do the noble thing and spread the wealth to other parts of north London. Come on, you know you want to
