It appears nobody has explained to the likes of LeaveDotEU or David Vance that The Independent Hashtag Change Hashtag Now Group Ltd flaming out in record time is not a decisive blow against Remainers, instead it's a decisive blow against deluded careerist politicians with far too high an opinion of themselves and their popularity

So there's an interesting piece in the current issue of Private Eye regarding the Dire Leader and Tory donors...

Back in the days of Cameron, Cameron would host dinners for the party donors charging £50k a head to attend - and he had donors who were from both sides of the Leave/Remain spectrum attending, and that's before considering the donations they were making outside of these suppers

As soon as May started parroting "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious means Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" those Remain donors not only discovered they were busy on the evenings when they were expected to cough up £50k for supper, but also found themselves short on money when the requests for donations came through - and if that wasn't enough, several of the hardcore Leave donors have also jumped ship to fund The Nigel Farage Ego Project

Not that this has financially crippled the party for generations to come, after all Lord Ashdown could bankroll the party with the monthly interest on his bank account, but it certainly explains why so many of the leadership candidates' platforms can be described as them trying to out-Leave one another, to the point Dominic Raab will be proposing that we dynamite the Channel Tunnel and dump mines in the English Channel in order to sink any cross-channel ferries thinking they can bring forriners to our shores

As he seems to be on a busmans holiday riding everywhere in planes and choppers since 2016,one wonders how much he is costing his country in airtrips alone?

A quick breakdown of the Peterborough by-election results

Labour - won
The Nigel Farage Ego Project - lost by 2%, which means they cannot stand in Peterborough ever again
Tories - worst defeat in Peterborough since 1886, so the BBC and Sky are really trying not to mention that
Lib Dems - didn't get their deposit back, so Twitter'll be quieter today
UKIP - wow, 400 people still loyal to the cause
SDP - wow, they still exist, and 135 people remembered
Monster Raving Loony - only got 112 votes, presumably as the lunatic vote went elsewhere

 

Just as was thinking of joining the Monster Raving Loonies, I devastated. For £20, you get a rosette, badge and a card to say that you are a certified lunatic.
