I know they're nothing to go by, but the various Lo Celso compilations I've watched suggest he isn't similar at all to Eriksen in style or role. He seems to play in a much more advanced central role and often finishes moves off (either with the final thread or by scoring) rather than getting them going. Doesn't do an awful lot of defensive work either. If I had to compare him to a Spurs player it would probably be VDV. Maybe it's his lethal left foot. He just has something of the Van der Vaarts about him.

Knowing us, we’ll probably end up with the £11.5m equivalent:

    Giovani Dos Santos.

    From Sky Sports...

    BERGWIJN TIPPED FOR SPURS MOVE

PSV Eindhoven winger Steven Bergwijn will hope to impress watching Premier League sides when the Netherlands face England in the UEFA Nations League tomorrow, live on Sky Sports.

The 21-year-old is wanted by Tottenham, according to Sky Sports News, and while Manchester United are also reported to be interested, the view in Holland is that north London could be his most likely destination.

"Spurs are following him," Rik Elfrink, a journalist who covers PSV for Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad, told Sky Sports. "They have talked to his agent and it has been said that there has already been an offer of 40m euros. PSV deny that, but a transfer is probably not far off.”

Bergwijn has shone this season, scoring 15 goals and providing 13 assists for PSV and forming part of an exciting young Netherlands side led by Ronald Koeman.

I'd be very happy with this. He's got lots of talents and can play across the front line and probably deeper too but he's so strong that he could become a central striker. Anything around the 40m mark is a serious Bargwijn......Sorry, I'll get my coat.

Was inevitable and expected but still feels somewhat gutting. I think Real will make that bid, good luck to him too if it all goes through, been a top pro and top player for us.

I'd take Isco, as it's the next best alternative to keeping Eriksen but if given then choice, I'd have Eriksen all day long.

He only names one club in the interview...Real Madrid. It's been widely discussed since late last year that he might have signed a new contract, but for that specific club's interest and if they don't strike a deal, he would still be open to staying.

Looking at the players that we're said to be interested in, I'm struggling to fit him into a team shape, so I reckon that it's goodbye and thanks...and just maybe a player (not Isco) coming the other way....?

I am a massive fan of Christian Eriksen, and have been since he made his break through. I remember years ago saying how he was a very “spurs” type of player and that we should sign him. So glad we did, as he’s been an incredibly influential player for us, especially in his early days when the rest of the magnificent 7 flattered to deceive.

In a strange way though, I feel this may be the right time for him and us to part company. His value has risen significantly and we can invest that money for the future. As much as he’s still a top player, part of me does wonder if in a year or two’s time we could be saying that we sold him at the right time.

I may be massively wrong, but he’s not getting any younger. Depending on where he ends up, he could face much more time on the bench within a squad full of quality.

Best of luck to him though. One of my favourite players ever to wear our shirt. <applause> <ok>

I am quite relaxed about him going and I also say that as a big fan - even before he joined us. I don't feel his commitment to us any more, the sparks of real skill where he'd drag the ball past a defender and be clear, the pinpoint free kicks, not there any more. Still can have abig influence on a game, but I agree with @Spurlock (I think) that it is almost always when we are already on top. Against the Man Citys Liverpools, Ajaxes, not at his best.

If I could be arsed to find it, I did make a post a few months back saying that with regards to Eriksen, I felt it was Real or nothing. If Real didn't make a bid I fancied him to stay but the problem was is that I did/ do see Madrid making an offer.

Full respect to him though, he seems very professional and so long as he doesn't force the move he'd go with my best wishes as he's been one of the best players I've seen at this club and I understand his desire to move on to a higher level.

It would be quite Levy-esque to demand a certain player in return, whether he could pull it off would remain to be seen.

I was the same, mate, you and I were clamouring on about him for a solid year or so before we even signed him!

He's been one of my favourite players to watch, makes football look so easy at times and has produced some magic moments for the club whilst helping us go from CL wannabes to CL Finalists.

As I just said to Brian, so long as he doesn't force the move and become a dick, he goes with my blessing and best wishes.
