Rant...I was at Barnsley on Saturday and to be honest it was crap. Now im no boo boy, never have ,never will..BUT if i wanna stand in the stands and slag one of out players off then i will. Now im sick of the few 'doo gooders' that can see no wrong and moaning at us cus we wanna put our views across. We all no footy is a dying game(too much money, too many foreigners, grounds with no singing and standing areas etc) but geez im only 38 and remember going to the game not that long ago when freedom of speach was standard.. We had some great vocal fans there on saturday and we was all willing OUR team on but when someone is playing crap(continuously over a number of games) then we say it how it is. We all need a good kick up the arse sometimes dont we?. Anybody else feeling this or am i on me own here..??! ha ha Cheers
if im having a seriously bad day at work, (and it does happen to us all) the last thing i need to hear is someone leaning over my shoulder and telling me im crap.....think about it we are all human
ha ha..whitwick your one of them then eh... well i beg to differ..i believe if im doing my job to a substandard level then i need telling..maybe you are of the more sensitive mothering kind but football(if u remember) is supposed to be a mans game is it not..?
It's not necessarily helpful to shout at the players but when you've spent money and time on watching them and you are desperate for them to stop being **** then it's only natural that you get angry and react by shouting at them. I don't agree with booing on the most part but I accept that there's a point where people get fed up, though I think it is a bit early to have reached that point. But telling a player to 'stop playing like a twat' and the suchlike is fair. They probably can't hear you anyway.
i had a terrible day at work last week. I was hungover and just not working well. i knew i was doing poor, then my manager took me over (totally unware i was hanging and just thought i was having a bad day) then told me how i need to up it and i was doing an awful job. I then lost all confidence and just wanted to get home. Encouragement would have got me going again. insight to my life there, not sure how relevant it is though!!
Ok so who remembers the pleat days.?? Shud the thousands of us demonstrating outside the ground encouraged pleat to do better and stay or was we right to slate as he was crap..? And if u need continuous mothering at work ed to make u work better then u need to go on a self motivation course
if im crap at my job week after week i get sacked and im not on 20k a week to kick a ball around. i get 12k a year working 50 hours a week and pay 30 quid for a ticket, 30 quid trainfare to see that said 20k a week player- yes i mean you matt mills- cannot win a header or pass to anyone in blue, so i think im well within my rights to shout sort your game out you donkey kong. totally agree with OP.
My only beef with this statement is only 6 games played?! 12 new players and we need another 6 games before we settle in my opinion. It took O'Neill 10 games to get going and fans were spitting on him! look how he turned out........ Just be paitent and say christmas time we are still playing badly then you are entitled to voice your concerns. We are all fans of LCFC and want whats best for the club, i'm a coah myself and can only speak from experience, the calm coach who keeps his head when all around him lose theres comes good in the end! I think it would help if Sven decided on his best formation and first choice 11 to help the side settle quicker?
Of course you have your right to moan at these players! The reason you have a right to moan at them........ YOUR PAYING THEIR BLOODY WAGES!!!
Cully 6 games or not mate means nothing to individual poor performances.. The odd bad game here and there then no probs but as someone else has mentioned mills currently is a joke. I'm sure he will come good but currently does not warrant a starting spot. The sooner goofy fans remember most of us are working class and not part of the PC middle class brigade the better. This in my opinion is why our ground at times is so quiet
What is with all this knee jerk reactions - we aren't doing that bad that we need to march and demand change or whatever. Never did it during the Ollie days when we were absolutely dire. It is only been 6 games and we are playing with an almost completely new squad - takes time to gel especially as we haven't added to our team but completely rebuilt it. Carry on moaning though - we shouldn't be 7 points off automatic promotion - but keep it perspective.
Bigfox.. This is no rant about changing the manager or a Knee jerk reaction. This is an old skool fan sick of the ' I will never slag our players off brigade'. Now I sang along with te others for 90mins at Barnsley and in between ft it necessary to give certain individuals abit of stuck due to their under performing.. Now correct me if I'm wrong but does this make me not a true fan any longer..??!!
Agree that players are under performing - expect a lot more from Mills for example - but I am willing to wait before I pass judgement. Doesn't mean that you are not a true fan - just more cynical then me I'm gonna give them 5 more games - if we are more then 5 points from auto with 1/4 season gone (positions don't matter yet) then I will join you in giving the stick.
dont get me wrong here big fox..i go down every match to sing and dance etc..i just believe that if people wanna give a certain player some stick then wheres the problem?. i ask u this..lets say our team are playing crap. we have tried the come on lesta chant and its not working... do we all then just go silent and wait for something to happen or do we give certain players a kick up the backside vocally towards them and hope that works and they dig in abit more? id be very interested to hear comments from all on that one...
I agree that we shouldn't sit in silence and pretend that everything is alright but that we shouldn't go straight into giving individual players stick at this stage of the season. Firstly it has only been 6 games - can't make any real conclusions apart from at the moment we aren't playing as a team which is understandable because of the amount of new faces. Also for many of our players it is their first 6 games for us - how are they going to be inspired by the "c'mon Leicester" chants if they don't feel anything towards us but fear or hate because we keep ripping into them? Need more personal chants for player - main reason Sol settled in really quickly was because we had the "Sol Sol Bamba" chant that made him feel closer to us and we forgave his mistakes. Wait for them to settle (I say 11 games which 1/4 of the season) and if by then they aren't inspired by our chanting then give them a verbal kick up the backside.
I understand your methods as i have played under coaches like that where they shout, give you a kick up the arse and yell in your face. There are different methods with different results, like Big Sam at West Ham? but Sven hasnt bought those style of players in, he has bought in hard working, go about there business with no fuss type of players? so his calm approach has more success. Richie Wellens is a totally different type of player and would prefer the shouting and kick up the arse method. I suppose Leicester fans wanted a good passing football team and not a typical championships tackle hard and give 120% attitude with very little football ability. I think we are trying to acheive a bit of both and are struggling to get the formation right at the moment which is effecting confidence. The players need passionate fans like you Collo but also your patience, when have we ever strolled a season? <smile>
Yes cully the passion Is there without a doubt. What my post was about was that a few of us vocal fans occasionally wanna voice some stick.. I don't seethe harm in that.. We don't go down there for a rant we go for a few beers, a laff and a sing song..all comments are valid from you guys and we are all passionate in our own way BUT let's not have the 'quiet say nothing brigade' having a go. I just hope mills for on has. Better game on sat or u mY be hearing me again! cheers
