If Poch judges these things by mistakes then how is Trippier getting games? I love Poch but I think he has many mental weaknesses and I think he panders to individuals and gets suckered into all the talk going on around him. You, me and 1 man and his dog knew that Moura should play but Poch threw him on as a desperate measure because he feels much safer picking the usual suspects like Alli and Kane...neither had earned a start before Moura for me...I can back it with stats and I can back it with examples of true guts n glory from Moura.
Tbh he had his tried and tested at southampton. I actually thought he had evolved when he got rid of a lot of the deadwood and even rotated the fbs regularly, fitted sanchez in. In a way he still does this but hes hes certainly got favourites who play and start regardless of how fit they are. How moura didnt get a look in i do not know.
Then that’s his Achilles heel for me Bob. The best managers in the World don’t pander to individuals...look at Jose and Mourinho...no ****s given. Aguero benched in the FA cup final...a game that clinched the Treble for them. Moura quickly established himself as the heartbeat of our CL run...I can’t believe he wasnt allowed to finish what he started at Ajax...shocker and I can’t look beyond Poch for making that error.
We're talking about the same Steptonho who would sign Ricardo Carvalho every time he was offered yet another job to flame out of two and a bit years later, right?
Until Carvalho stopped being affective. Many managers re sign players but they have to offer something and the manager has to utilise it...its all on the manages terms
Reports in Spain claim that Real Madrid have made Isco available for transfer. Buckle up, lads. Here we go again!
I saw an odd headline earlier, I think it may have been the Standard (although don't quote me on that...) suggesting we wanted to sign an English goalkeeper to be our third-choice goalkeeper next season Errm...am I the only one whose noticed Alfie Whiteman in first team training galleries this season?
It’s makes a lot of sense for him to be promoted. English, qualifies as HG/ CG for Europe and best of all, would cost us **** all. Would be good to see a goalkeeper come through the ranks, think Button was the last academy keeper that played for Spurs in a competitive game - late sub at Doncaster IIRC.
One question for the summer has to be the players in U23/first team limbo, namely... Luke Amos Brandon Austin Cameron Carter-Vickers Marcus Edwards Anthony Georgiou George Marsh Josh Onomah Kazaiah Sterling Alfie Whiteman ...and that's on the assumption that Tom Glover and Shayon Harrison will be following Connor Ogilvie out the door by the end of this month
Might be better for Whiteman if we loan him out for regular football and bring someone in to play back-up to Lloris and Gazzaniga, though. Button isn't playing regularly for Brighton, so he could be a decent choice.
I feel for Amos because this was meant to be his breakthrough season. It’s gonna be a struggle for him now as we’re likely to sign at least one new CM whilst Skipp is probably ahead in the pecking order. CCV has a slight chance of making it. In terms of talent Edwards would definitely make it but I think Poch doesn’t/ won’t trust his attitude. The rest (Whiteman aside) I think will be looking for a new club.
Nae. He’d want massive wages and he’d primarily be a bench warmer. Plus he’s a crock and we’ve got enough of them around the place. Would just rather the club offer Nando a new deal.
After reading this I gotta ask....are any of these you? Cos only some like this would ask such a question!
