George Galloway has been sacked by Talksport for supporting Liverpool:

Reports that he's going to sign for Chelsea instead are currently uncomfirmed.

Fair play to Liverpool's head of club and supporter liaisons, though:

Thanks a bunch, George, now we have David Collier's most prominent lieutenant (after Rachel Riley, of course...) threatening to use the club as a means to push Collier's agenda...

    Well here’s a surprise. So let’s run a poll - will they:

    a) go squirming back to their old parties, or
    b) join the LibDems

If I was going to guess...

Umunna - announces he never wanted a career in politics anyway and awaits offers of directorships
Allen - returns to the cold, dead, unwelcoming bosom of the Tories
Soubry - jumps to the Lib Dems citing her membership of the SDP thirty years ago and record as a blatant charlatan
Woolaston - wouldn't be surprised if she jacked in politics altogether
Shuker - mouths off for a bit, before loudly joining the Lib Dems
Leslie - quietly joins the Lib Dems
Berger - is supposed to join the Lib Dems, but doesn't turn up - sort of like her time as an MP...
Coffey - slowly comes to the realisation nobody noticed she left in the first place
    Gapes - finished
    Ryan - finished
    Smith - finished

Well you're not that wide of the mark it seems.

Allen, Wollaston, Smith, Berger, Shuker and Chukka have all umm... chucked it in with their final destinations unclear and the delightful Anna Soubry has been "elected" as the new leader. I assume it was the thousands of party members who decided this? Oh... wait.

An update of The Independent Hashtag Change Hashtag Now Group PLC's MPs

Anna Soubry - elected as new leader, which has a lot to do with...
    Chuka Umunna - quit
    Heidi Allen - quit
    Sarah Woolaston - quit
Gavin Shuker - quit...even though he's the company secretary
    Luciana Berger - quit
    Angela Smith - quit

So all that Soubry has to work with is Mike Gapes, Joan Ryan, Chris Leslie and Ann Coffey. Time for yet another rebrand then?

So of those who "quit" , which of them had the brainstorm to coalesce
rather than merely exist as N truly party-independent MPs ??

Shuker's the prime candidate as he's the one who set up the company, which also means he appointed the directors that aren't him a couple of weeks ago (this also implies the split was on the card for a couple of weeks too)

As for those who were in on the plan, I'd certainly suggest Umunna and Leslie were in on the plan from the beginning, and I wouldn't be surprised to hear Ryan was part of the plan for some time as the timing of her departure looked way too choreographed

Chukka should have stayed with Labour. If the brilliant David Lammy can, Chuka ought to have been able to.

The Spanish Supreme Court has blocked plans to exhume General Franco

This may have caused problems with Los Ladrones' AGM...
