First time I saw Sammy was Darlo friendly and the over-riding impression was of a route one player who was very greedy ( although scored a pearler with his left foot I recall)to the point he could have lain the ball off a few times to better placed team-mates ( having said that HBA was exactly the same on the night)......but I wonder, now he's popped on to our radar as a sub, do we think he could dislodge Best? I can't make up my mind if he's just a younger Shola ( forgive the pun).

He plays with energy, skill and enthusiasm. If anything he could replace Shola. I think he is a prospect and is banging on the door of a 1st team call up!

As it stands he's an impact player. Impressed with his attitude and ability so far. Needs to keep working hard and taking his chances when they come.

Agree with this, needs more than 5 minutes but not a starter for me just yet! Hope he keeps working hard!

agreed on the impact player front. he has that jonas quality of sucker defenders out out position to try and get the ball off him. i can see him being quite frustrating at times but at least he plays without fear and runs at people. he has proven he can finish too. if he keeps coming on for odd 15min cameos he'll rapidly improve.

More of a starter than big brother. More passion and skill already and can get better, whereas Shola will never be any different.

My thoughts exactly..............so why has every manager loved Shola and why give the guy an extension when there must be dozens of faster/effective/scoring strikers out there itching for a EPL place???

every manager we've ever had has basically came out and said that he's nigh on unplayable in training etc.

We'll just keep him for training purposes then. He's got nothing to offer during the games.

Looks like he has great potential but seems to do the same trick all the time....drag back....

I don't think Sammi is an out and out striker. At present he has earnt a go of some description by virtue of being a far better option than his brother, Ba or Lover. For me him or Marveaux in the hole is the way to go. It'll liven us up and get our passing going. We lack movement up top and this restricts the midfielders. They have a lack of options and have to be pinpoint with their passes. They can't play into open space because Shola won't move to get there. Best has to play and did well until he tired from doing two mens running. I'd give Sammy his head at home in the hole. Away I'd go with Abeid or Marveaux.

not yet. he's come on quite a bit and when he plays he seems to have the energy Shola is lacking. If you could merge both Ameobi's into one we'd have a really good striker IMHO.
He may end up a bit of a Lua Lua but for now I get a little buzz whenever he comes on... something I've not had for a few seasons...

I want Sammi kept away from Shola. He doesn't deserve to have any of his traits inflicted on his promising game!

I've been very impressed with Sameobi, definitely would like to see him get a few more sub appearances before January then if we sign a new striker, loan him out for the remainder of the season.

Think he's definitely a keeper, if only Ranger wasn't such a ratbag they'd make quite a good partnership in the future.

He looks good to me and he should start in my opinion against Forrest.

I thought the front 4 at the end of Ba, Sammi, Marveaux and Jonas looked more threatening in the 5 mins or so they had together than Shola/obertan etc had looked the whole game.

I sort of agree, however Obertan was one of best players I thought
