The break doesn't help any team imo. It was the same for the Europa League final, that was **** too. Although the staid atmosphere because of the venue coupled with our second half capitulation didn't help either. I just takes the wind out of team's sails having a 2-3 week break before a final. I didn't see the CL final, but just about everybody on here was of the opinion that Kane shouldn't start and you should have played Son and Moura (who got you to the final) up front. Why Poch picked Winks is baffling indeed. As I said on another thread, Poch is a very good manager, but he has some glaring tactical ineptitude at times. His team selection and subs can be really poor at times.
I assume that Winks came in because we're more effective when he plays and we don't have any depth in the midfield. I thought it was a mistake before the match, but he actually played fairly well in a game that virtually nobody did. Kane starting when he's not fit is standard, though. Southgate will now go on to run him into the ground and everyone will slag him off for playing ****.
The one positive for you is how much money you'll have generated from that run. Allows you to bring in better players and replace ones that will be leaving with equally as good/better players. Lo Celso or Ndombele would be incredible signings, for example, and you've been linked heavily with both. How much money do you think you'll spend this Summer?
72 lira. About twice as much as Arsenal... Honestly, it's impossible to tell. Levy needs to get spending this summer, but whether he will or not remains to be seen.
That's just the transfer fee, mate. We'll sign some 28-year old nobody from Argentina, stick him on a 5-year contract and give him £150k per week. Then we'll all moan when it inevitably doesn't work and the board will scratch their heads at why we can't shift him. It's the Arsenal way these days, apparently What makes you doubt Levy would spend? Stadium costs?
Just Levy! I think we're in a strange position and we need to approach things sensibly, but quite aggressively, if that makes sense. We can't compete with some of the silly money being thrown around, but we need to make the right signings and do it quickly. A couple of positions needs strengthening badly, but we also need to go back to what we've done well in the recent past and buy potential.
I think we can afford to spend a net £150m or so. We might raise £100m in sales if Eriksen goes. We don't have much experience of signings at that level though so not sure how it will work out.
By a magnificent one point, on the very last day of the season. And still 25 points behind the champions. You must be very proud. Congratulations!
Depends on previous criteria. For us, the CL final is a huge leap forward. For you, the Europey league is a regression.
