I stupidly agreed to do the run yesterday to help out a mate who had spaces spare. Im not expecting to be finshed in time for the game but news if a victory may help me drag my sorry ass over the finish line by 6 oclock.
We have before us an ordeal of the most grievous kind. We have before us many, many long months of struggle and of suffering. You ask, what is our policy? I will say: It is to wage war, by sea, land, and air, with all our might and with all the strength that God can give us; to wage war against a monstrous tyranny never surpassed in the dark, lamentable catalogue of human crime. That is our policy. You ask, what is our aim? I can answer in one word: It is victory, victory at all costs, victory in spite of all terror, victory, however long and hard the road may be Ya can't beat a bit of Winston when it comes to motivation...
Think youd better bash loadsa Winston on here everyday, I need a bit of brainwashing to get into the mood of this, but with Winnie and Captain Morgan, the worlds my ostrich, whatever that means. just pray you lot are right.
No idea what you mean by that, as I havn't got a clue how things will pan out in the coming months...I just feel that dis-unity will always have negative consequences, so for that reason I will back the club, and all that goes with it, while there is hope.
I love your quotes! Poetry the other day too. You remind me of my old headmaster/teacher in junior school who always used to read Kipling and Churchill and stories about people like Gladys Aylward and Albert Schweitzer (I know he's not British!) to us. I just went to the local council estate school too, nothing posh. Do you think junior school teachers do that today? NO! Maybe that's part of the problems in UK society today. We have forgotten our history and how courageous people can be in the face of real terror and deprivation. Oh my God I'm turning into Victor Meldrew.
I just hope the fans at the stadium back the team 100% and make SoL into a cauldron of noise - even if we go one down at any point (cos we will win it in the end of course). If any fans want to turn on Bruce and the players to let them know their anger (if the unthinkable should happen), then I hope it is after the final whistle and not before. The players and Bruce need picking up after what happened this weekend and need to know we are true supporters, and the best fans in the country. They dont need putting down by us, it wont help anyone for those special 90+ minutes when we get to see our team play. WE ARE SUNDERLAND
