I think we do. Maybe this could become that thread. Are Otzumer and Eaves better players than those we had last season? And are they good enough to compete in the Championship? Genuine questions (I'm not being sarcastic on this occasion)...
Are you reading this post @Royston Vasey when you change thread titles? @AllHellLetLoose has respect and common decency.
Didn’t rate Eaves when we played them away , looked like a poor mans andy Carrol, having said that he was one of the top scores in L1 last season
To buy players, or managers, I am a firm believer of bringing in people with experience of that league. Bring in players with Championship experience rather than a lower league with something to prove.
I agree with this sentiment Elfs, but sadly in current circumstances experienced Championship players who aren't over the hill will not be an option.
Eaves is a big aggressive centre Forward who scored a lot of goals for Gillingham. Oztumer is a will of the wisp player similar to Williams but hasn't made it at Bolton but scored a lot of goals for Walsall.
I watched Eaves closely when we played Gillingham. He is a Sunday league version of Andy Carroll. Big, slow and clumsy. He would do nothing in the Championship - defenders would have their cigars lit against him.
Rumours doing the rounds that we have agreed a deal with Tom Eaves - free transfer. If that fella scores 10 goals in the Championship next season I will buy every member on here breakfast in Rosie’s.
Disagree with you on this occasion - Taylor is better playing alongside a striker with pace who makes space for him. Eaves isn’t that player - he’s another Makienok.
We need a squad. Eaves is a striker that has scored lots of goals in League one. Is he good enough for a Championship Club only time will tell. We can still bring another striker or two in of the pacy variety. We need about ten new signings. Frees and loans it's going to be very difficult.
We are also being linked with Plymouth Argyle playmaker Ruben Lameiras … he wasn't even a regular starter for relegated Plymouth?? No offence @Plymborn https://www.plymouthherald.co.uk/sp...mouth-argyle-playmaker-ruben-lameiras-2935030
