Watched the Champs League final tonight. That's another couple of hours I won't get back as it wasn't a classic was it. But, have to say that overall this season it was fitting that Liverpool came away with something so was a fair result for me.

Not interested to start with so I didn't bother to check score....but a disappointment I would think for Joe that Spurs lost......did see that opening goal on the news later....definitely a hard decision to accept.....completely changed the match....match had too much hype before and that goal seemed to deflate the occasion.

Very disappointing that probably the two most entertaining teams in the PL league should produce such a poor final in front of a world audience.

The penalty decision was ludicrous. If all VAR is going to do is stop the game only to confirm stupid decisions then can we scrap it again please.

It ruined the game I think, especially happening so early on. It must have put the idea in Liverpool's minds that they'd got the goal and there was no need to push and Spurs' game plan went out of the window. It's a big enough event to hold your nerve through without that.

Ah well, on to England on Wednesday (I think) and something we can all take sides in.

Hottest and sunniest day of the year yesterday (Sat).....today similar although a little more cloudy.....I see Home Park looking rather wet today and gloomy and still managerless.

The rules on the penalty thing are clear and have been in force all season. If you stick your arm out from your body and it hits it then a penalty is always going to be given. ALL defenders know this. I agree that it is harsh and if it was against my side I would be very dubious indeed but it is the rule and by that fact alone it was a penalty. Players will be kicking the ball at arms in the future deliberately.

Poor game but best team won in the end. Kane should have been booked for a blatant dive. Spurs came more alive when it was too late and it was their own doing. And, I didn't really care which team won from the outset. My son told me the Town Centre was awash with people in Liverpool shirts yesterday morning. Says a lot doesn't it.

Defenders running around with there hands in their pockets or arms tied to their waist...will not work.....it is natural for a person to balance themselves by using their arms.....personally ridicules conclusion to the rule.....match ruined in 28 seconds.....common sense thrown out the window......Moussa Sissoko seemed to chest the ball initially before it touched his upper arm......letter of the law poppycock....UEFA's guidelines so what

Look again Plym. He was not balancing he was pointing to somebody where he wanted them to go. It was not a natural position he stuck his arm out in the box deliberately even if not to handle the ball. It did hit his chest then went to arm and hand lastly. Whether we think it's soft or not it has been a consistent decision all season long. Next season it gets even tougher for defenders and that's where I think playing for a handball will start. Sissoko ruined his sides chances at the start not the Ref or Liverpool. I am more concerned about Kane blatantly diving in the second half and the Ref letting him get away with it. They were getting desperate though.

Surely directing team mates to a threat IS a natural part of the game and therefore it's not a handball.

In any event, it hit his chest and bounced up onto his arm, which didn't move.

Firstly, that says it wasn't deliberate (or at least if it was, he failed by the best part of 2 feet).

Secondly, once the ball had hit his chest, the second touch on his arm had very little effect on where the ball ended up. He blocked it with his chest and it stayed blocked.

You are right that on a literal reading of the rule it was handball, but a sensible ref would have waved play on. The rule needs re-writing to remove this stupid "unnatural position" concept and go back to it needing to be deliberate.

It did hit his hand as well notdistant. Thing is the Ref is there to enforce the rules and that is exactly what he did. It may be a crap rule, and I don't argue it isn't, but sadly it is the rule and the players all know it is especially those at the back.

Two things wrong with McCauley. One coming from Plymouth but supporting Liverpool and the second assaulting a Policeman or indeed anyone. He gets what he deserves and no sympathy from me whatsoever.

These are the Spsnish police though. In that case, attacking a police officer probably means trying to stop him beating you over the head with a baton.

It was an interesting event I think. We have a disappearing fan and I saw a headline to the effect that one fan was arrested for masturbating in public. I didn't think the game was that exciting.

How old was he notdistant? When you get to an age sometimes you have to take advantage of the moment when the opportunity arises (so to speak)..............

Too quick to condemn notdistant there could have been a perfectly valid reason. You must read articles thoroughly in future.

You have to filter out the dross these days. If I see one more poster enthusing about the new series of Love Island, I may run amok myself. Imitation boobs, imitation lives.

Doesn't seem to be much coverage of it, but Portugal play Switzerland in the first semifinal of the Euro Nations League tonight followed by England v Holland tomorrow.

A new and low profile competition for sure but it certainly spiced up recent internationals compared to the usual friendlies.

Only being shown on Sky unfortunately........
