Over the last 2 years England have undoubtedly amassed a very strong team.. They are destroying India left right and centre and is now starting to become embarrasing, for the ex worlds best team....

It has to be said India defiantley dont have their best team, and have been unlucky with injuries, but our back up looks way better then their back up....

How great can this England team be? Anyone think we can reach number 1 in the world in 1 days and maybe even 20twenty? Without getting carried away has this team got the potential to be the best team in 50 years or so?

We lack something when it comes to ODIs. Look at yesterday, we had India 25/4 then allowed them to get to 230 odd. A better team would have finished off the Indians for 100 runs.

There are alot of young guys coming through like Taylor, Stokes, Hales, Buttler, Bairstow etc etc - we are reaping the rewards of the Ashes victory in 2007 - it meant lots of youngsters were inspired to play (or to continue to play) the game - these players coming through are going to make Engalnd stronger in all facets of the game - exciting times ahead!!

A more attacking captain would of, something that Cook needs to learn, tbh look at the chances we created we could of done it, but ODI's are all about luck and captaincy rather than skill sometimes, all you need is a couple of fluky sixes and then the momentum is back with you.

    Think you mean 2005....

But i agree, the talent is there but we need to start nuturing it now so that we have them ready to come in when they are 26/27 and the current side start to retire.
