A bad comparison Pissy, they were playing the Daddies of London old son. Who would have spanked you both also. Just make it easy on yourself and admit you’re not classy enough to win European trophies. Or any ****ing trophy.
I thought he grew into the game and finished as one of the strongest players for us. Though it doesn’t say much as I thought all in all we/ Pool/ the game in general was poor. Starting Winks when he could only play 65 minutes was a stinker from Poch, feel so sorry for Lucas that he was dropped for a player half fit after what he done in the semi final. Hungover like **** right now though. Just compounds to the misery lol.
Don’t think Kane did a lot wrong but had no service. Alli and Eriksen didn’t do their jobs IMO. Winks played well. Easy to say after the event but maybe a five at the back was the better bet.
Kane clearly wasn’t match fit and should never have started. He had 15 touches of the ball in the first half - the least of any player on the pitch - and all of those were ineffectual. I’d have far rather seen Lucas running at the Pool defence.
Yeah Alli was dreadful. Too many allowed the occasion to get to them in my opinion. I thought Winks done ‘ok’ but if he couldn’t play 90+ minutes then he shouldn’t have started in my opinion. Eriksen’s played deeper at CM quite a bit whilst Winks was out, I’d have much rather gone with that with Lucas in at RW and then brought Winks on when/ if needed.
The heat and humidity would have had an effect on both sides. Madrid in summer is horrendous. It was 30+ on the pitch. It’s hot here too, but we don’t have Madrid’s humidity.
Another reason I think that the 3 week gap was more of a disadvantage to you lot. It gave Kane a chance of being fit and then Poch has a decision to make. Personally I think the negatives of having a player come into the side who hadn't played since April was always going to be greater than his goal scoring record.
Tactically naive from Poch to leave Moura out. Just about the whole world had been saying that he should start ahead of Kane. And for obvious reasons. Moura got you to that final. Poor decision to drop him.
Didn't realise Anthony Joshua was such a huge Spurs fan ... he's really taken one for Poch and his boys there ...
Kane wasn’t the issue in my opinion, he actually probably played better than Son/ Dele/ Eriksen. The issue for me was Winks. Winks didn’t play badly but he clearly wasn’t fit enough to play a full game and was rightly subbed. Eriksen has been playing CM a lot during Winks’ injury so we could’ve quite literally kept Eriksen CM and played Lucas up top with Kane and Son. I agree though, Lucas did get us to that final and it was a terrible decision dropping him.
