What makes that interesting is that it's almost certain (99%+) that she was a Wee Free, which is a Protestant sect that some might compare to Muslim behaviours! By this I mean that they don't drink (but secretly do in the Hebrides); don't borrow or loan money; don't tolerate anything resembling entertainment on a Sunday (walking is permitted); and they don't even allow musical accompaniment when singing in church. I had an uncle whose family had all 3 courses of their Sunday lunch in the same big soup plate - to save on the un-Godly behaviour! Ridiculous, eh? Especially as the dishes were washed the next day as they didn't want to offend God by doing it on the Sabbath! The list of ridiculous behaviours goes on .....

Given all that Trump stands for, irony doesn't begin to describe it.

 

Strong Christian belief isn't the same as Muslim, sure they don't believe in jehad and killing non Christians, don't chop arms off for stealing, I have family who believe in the same as you quoted, but they preach love not hate like a large part of Muslim worship.

I think you need to re-read my grammar. I did not draw an exact comparison, and I also depersonalised it by saying 'some'.

Given your track record for totally ignoring requests for links/evidence to support outlandish statements, I guess I'm forlornly asking you to prove your assertion "but they preach love not hate like a large part of Muslim worship". You clearly have no understanding of the Muslim faith, nor its composition. The relatively small group of people you refer to have killed exponentially more Muslims than all other religions put together - precisely because they preach peace & love!! Ironic, isn't it? It's comparable to taking a small Christian sect like the Salvation Army & saying all Christians play brass instruments dressed up in a uniform. I strongly suspect most Christians don't.

I'd also like to hear your comments on Christians who ran rampage through Africa, killing millions, presumably in the name of peace & love.

Just to be clear, I am not religious, but have studied religions as a personal interest for over 40 years (strange, but true). I just don't like seeing unjustified labels being bandied about - especially when it's a subject that has cost so many lives.

 

A large part of Muslim worship, how large do you want ? Well would say Saudi Arabia be large enough for you ? A country where there isn't allowed 1 church, a country where preaching from a bible will get you a death sentence.A country where switching from being a Muslim to a Christian is punishable by death. Is that the same as Scotland ?.
Now can you be specific, which church ran through Africa killing millions. Think you're getting confused between armies and Christians. An army led by 1 person who calls himself a Christian is not a Christian army. As you haven't been specific it's impossible to try and answer, try again.
40 years and you think people who don't drink are like Muslims suggest you go start again.

 

Chesh, I agree Saudi Arabia is quite extreme but gets away with it because it is rich and also it has Mecca. Malaysia, a Muslim country with a population similar in size to Saudi Arabia does allow other religions and Indonesia the largest Muslim country by population in the world also recognises the Christian Church. So it's difficult to generalise. Painting all Muslims with the terrorist brush is as inappropriate as saying all Christians support the mass killing at the Mosques in Christchurch in my opinion.

Percentage = 1.83

Now if all of the Saudi population believe in killing Christians, and you have no basis to believe they have, 1,8% represents a significantly tiny percentage of the global population of Muslims. Funny how facts aren't as attractive as the wild, unfounded & speculative nonsense you're attempting to spout.

You also seem to know absolutely zilch about the history of the Roman Catholic church. Wars were fought by armies at their behest. Cortez for Spain and God springs immediately to mind in South America. Then there were the British, Germans, Belgians, French, Dutch, and many others in Africa. All in the name of the Word of God.

Go take a few years out to study then come back with some salient facts, Chesh. I refuse to get hooked into your usual pish. Try answering my first question first, as requested. Or simply concede that you've got it terribly wrong. Again.

And not one army was a Christian army, was a few claiming to be Christians leading armies of non believers. But we aren't talking about history, we are talking about now.

No he wasn't, he was a neo Nazi.Myanmar is a conflict involving Sunni Muslims who have been attacking other religions for years, only the majority had enough and attacked them back.
Darfur is Sunni Muslims killing other religions and like you say half a million killed in the last year, Jock will say that's not many.
