Doubt the grandkids would appreciate their cash being spent on that

Thats the big if right there bud. We need to hit the ground running this season. Im not concerned about the full backs yet. A big central defender and some pace out wide and quality in the middle and im happy.

Just looked at Phil Haye's average ratings for each player this season and the standout performers all average 7+ Are:

    Pontus
    Cooper
    Halme
    Phillips
    Davies
    Shackelton
    Hernandez

So shows we need more from the strikers both full backs, wingers and No10 and keeper please

Bit skewed, though, isn't it? I expect more from Hay.

Ayling is gauged over a season & we all know he had a dip in form after his injury. But Halme & Davis? Didn't get into double figures between them. Quite an unfair comparison, imo, and tbh, no matter how good they were when they did play, I'd expect them both to be rated way behind Ayling over a season, mainly due to their youth & inexperience, as kids tire mentally & physically as the season progresses.

It’s average figures though WJ. If Halme played sat twice and scored over 7 it would hardly compare with Pablo scoring over 7 in maybe 30 Games. Doubt Hay meant it to be any kind if real gauge surely. Would probably fairer if players playing less than maybe a half dozen games we disregarded. Based on this Brown could have been top rated if he’d managed another ten minutes

The only way our starlets for the future are going to get better is by playing people that is better then them.

Sure they're not going to have the stamina, but look what happened when Bielsa was forced to use Shackleton.

A bit like when O'Leary was forced to use the likes of Robbo, Smith, Kewell, Woodgate etc, nand found out purely by accident that he had superstars in the making.

But they need to be used sparingly. Look what happened to Clarke and by ram before him. Clarke may or may not be the same again as he was before Xmas

Absolutely, 10 mins here, 20 mins there, Biggest criticism was Bielsa's refusal to rotate and keep the players fresh.

Last season we were at our best when our intensity was high. He absolutely failed to try to integrate the snrs and u23's together apart from Clarke.
