I can certainly see your distinction, I just think you're asking for a bit much. We could have spent more on Austin in January but it might have meant we couldn't get Fryatt, we can't have it all.

*Can you explain what this is based on? Would it be his age by any chance? If so do you not remember Deano in our promotion season?

Calm yourself young Padawan, refreshingly, you are taking an active role in this interesting debate without resorting to mud slinging. It is appreciated, don't lower yourself!! :)

    Hey calm down... calm down...alright...alright.

Who called you a big joker? Think your confusing me for somebody else!!!

Take a chill pill, open your eyes and see that Adebola is a donkey who even NP now realises was a mistake to have signed in the first place, hence why he is'nt even making the bench !!!

Calm down love, I think it was only a joke.

I don't remember anyone slagging Adebola off on this thread, we're just discussing the fact that a classic big strong centre forward would benefit the team far more than a target man. It's a forum, it's what we do on here.

Edit: I don't remember anyone slagging Adebola off in this thread, until THETIGERSHULL just did it in the post above. <whistle>

Thanks for the update OLM, top man. I always liked the fight and fire in belly mentality ***an always showed on the pitch and find it hard to believe he is still clubless.

I'm sure it was, it's just does my head in that one of our own players gets so much stick when he's hardly even played yet, and I'm criticised if I try to defend the player. THETIGERSHULL is a perfect example of the the kind of fan I'm talking about. Yourself and Strovolos weren't slagging Adebola off as such, which is why I explained what I thought to you two calmly. It was me being criticised for defending my team's player that annoyed me.

No, it's not based on his age. Thing is age affects different people in different ways. Deano was able to play 42 games scoring 15 goals for us in our promotion season which was testimony to his fitness and him being lucky that the ageing process had been particularly kind to him.

I look at Adebola and he seems fit and agile when he comes on but VERY suddenly seems to tire and injure himself. And that is with small cameo appearances. So he obviouly cannot provide us with what we need.

As for January, I think NP was DESPERATE for striking options. Mr Allam game him a budget and he made choices. He's not beyond making mistakes, and I'm sure if in his position I would make a million more than him, but signing Fryatt AND McLean was a mistake, and signing McLean for £1.3m was an even bigger mistake. He just aint worth that.

It's all water under the bridge now, I suppose, but the main point I am making is that we need a Centre Forward as the majority of successful Championship sides have these days.

And I make no bones about it. I'll say what others are too scared to say or thinking. Broad shoulders and all that.

The OLD man just aint good enough and if he was he would be playing or on the bench at the very least, enough said.

Mclean cost £1.3m and he's probably worth half that, Madine cost half that and is probably worth double, hindsight is a wonderful thing.

So you think Adebola probably can't start games. Fair enough. You might be wrong though, you wouldn't have thought Deano could do it at his age either. But I think NP signed him to start some games, he wouldn't have signed him just for the odd sub appearance. All I'm trying to say is that none of us know how DA is going to perform when he does play, and we should judge him when he does get a chance, not before.

Well, that begs the question "Why hasn't NP started him in any games?"

I would suggest the answer is either that it in fact wasn't his intention, or the fact he has seen him close at hand in training and has decided he isn't able to play a full game.

I agree matey, from what I have seen of him so far in a City shirt, for a big bloke he cant stay on his feet very long, then cries off injured under a run of the mill challenge and when he has lasted more than 5 minutes on the pitch he puffing like a steam train.

There is no chance he can last 90 minutes and I can pretty much gurantee that we wont see him much in a City shirt if all our other strikers remain fit. I think NP realises he had made a mistake with DA and once his contract expires next year it wont get renewed.

Bit pednatic. That was one game, he played 47 mins then collapsed in a heap.

That's a bit short of Deano's 40 odd games at an average of 75 minutes a game. It's that kind of contribution we need.

I've seen every game this season, including the pre-seasons(other than Winterton and that Brid kids XI thing) and I really don't think Dele offers us anything at all. As far as I can remember, he's started one game and was subbed at half time, he's made no impact in those games when he's come on as sub and he didn't even make the bench on Saturday. Given his time over, I suspect NP wouldn't sign him, but we can all be clever after the event(I doubt we'll see too much more of him though).

Also I dont think its even fair to compare the City Legend, Deano with Adestrola, thats insulting on Deano's part.

My point exactly, already made in my above posts.

Not sure I agree with your somewhat dismissive remarks about Adebola. I never said he didn't have a role to play and he obviously isn't the type not to give his all for the cause, so perhaps your snide remarks are not called for.
