i got mugged in ladbrokes last time i went home as wanted to get my old man a present in the form of a little flutter on CAFC put 100 squid on us to finish top4 (put it on the nose but each way). was pretty annoyed that despite asking the right questions, no assistance was given to get the best odds. the cashier`s advice was to stick half on finish top 2 and the other half on winning play offs. that was bunkum clearly, the chance of us finishing top 4 us more probable than us finishing top 2 or win the play offs. ( i discount the possibility that finishing 5th or 6th and winning the play offs is more than a negligible chance).
My tip for tonight's football would be Chelsea win to nil @ 5/4. Reason being Bayer are very negative away from home and will be playing 3rd choice keeper, so will be keen to protect him as much as poss. May take Chelsea till 2nd half to score, so bigger odds 10/3 for HT draw/ FT Chelsea also appeals. Chelsea havent lost at home in Europe for 8 years, so totally discounting an away win and away goal. That leaves 2 options and the home win appeals far more than the draw. 5/4 therefore good odds IMO
Replacing Arsenal with Dortmund in my accumulator would give me near double money. £20 taking it up to near £1000. With Dortmund over Arsenal it's just over £500. Decisions, decisions.
That's why I looked at Dortmund first- just thought I would have a cheeky look at it compared to an Arsenal win. Going for my original bet with Borussia. Not a great pay out, but for every 5 £20 stakes one usually comes through to win £400+.
Yeah i followed it on gamecast, as the time it started in Oz was about 9am, id been at work for 1.5 hours by then. Watched it sail well over the points, and i was cocky and had it going into Oakland ($2.60) to beat Denver which gave me 5/1 ! i was stoked ! Cheers Houndal, sounds like their is a few punters amongst us hey. In terms of champions league betting, tomorrow Real Madrid to win by 2+ goals is a very good chance to salute imo, around $1.70.
Advice is always welcome- I try to bet in smaller amounts(below £20). I usually do £20 stakes, and one every 5 comes in which usually brings in £300 minimum, so always like to see myself as ''up''. Used to chase 8 game accumulators, but soon realised the 5's were the way to go.
Afternoon chaps, Had a little wager tonight on Barcelona, Chelski, Porto, AFC Wimbledon, Barnet & Swindon - £20 returns £422.00. Also had a £40 single on Swindon - think Crawley have not found League 2 as easy as the bookies thought and DiCanio's team are a massive 11/4 tonight. Also had a £5 multi-silly bet : The games involving Chesterfield, Rochdale, Barnet, Bristol Rovers,Crawley, Hereford & Southend - both teams to score (£40 bet but return is huge if all score). Did the same bet at the weekend and the QPHaaha game was the only game that both teams didn't score and the £5 sixfold paid £280 so was £240 up (hence the large outlay tonight)!!
