I agree Rob , the electorate are pi55ed off with both main parties , the Remainers May switch to Lib Dem’s , but I can’t see Leavers voting for the Brexit party. I’m sure they will attempt to put together a manifesto, but they won’t be able to persuade people they are anything other than a one issue protest party, which won’t attract enough votes in a GE to win seats. Personally I’m a long term Labour voter , but I’m first and foremost a democrat who believes the politicians should deliver what we voted for , I realise most Labour voters are remainers, but I feel let down by Labour as I believed they were democrats first and foremost also, which they blatantly aren’t in my view, so for the first time in my life I probably won’t vote at all next time as at the moment I don’t feel any party represents my views.
It's a real mucky choice at the moment, we've got the saviour of mankind leading Labour, the Liberal poodles fighting out for leadership, the Tories putting up a qualifying football team of non eventers punching it out and the clear as a crystal Nigel Farage leading the individual party offerings. Who would you choose ?
They may get a few disillusioned Tories to vote for them , I can’t see many Labours leavers voting for them though , they are much too far right wing for that, as pi55ed off as I am with Labour I couldn’t bring myself to even vote for them in the Euros RR
The sad thing Wiz they aren’t just picking a leader of the Tory party they are also choosing our next PM from that list of muppets
Do you know I fear, very much the coming weeks, that is the first time I've stated it, I'm not a Corbyn person, him and his crowd stopped me voting Labour, they make me vomit, I hate left wing Socialism & Nationalism, Tories have pissed me off and Liberals are a load of chickens in a chicken coop gobbing off, I honestly like and believe the leave message but Farage ain't the man for me. Like a lot of moderate people in this country I'm pissed right off.
I like that to be fair wiz. Because in all honesty, there's nothing more irritating to me than a Brexit Party supporter who blindly supports Farage, when in reality if you look at his record there is nothing to suggest he is a 'man of the people', and everything to suggest that he's a symbol of capitalism that would **** on the people. I'm not talking about Brexit, I mean his actual political views. So fair play to you because most Brexiteers bang on about how great Farage is when in reality all you have to do is a bit of research to realise he is just as bad as (or worse than) the others. You can still be a Brexit supporter and disagree with Farage, but unfortunately most are incapable.
Im going to chill out at Carbis bay for 2 or 3 hours next weds... taking some works of art down for an exhibition...
For my part, I think the whole thing was badly organised from the start. That’s why we are where we are. Cameron has a lot to answer for.
I realise the reason Cameron gave us a referendum was for party political reasons , but I personally believe a referendum on the issue was a perfectly legitimate thing to do, we were overdue an opportunity to have a vote on the issue. I agree the way it was handled was poor, which was due to the reason for it being called, & the arrogance of the politician elite. They not only thought there was no chance we would vote leave, but arrogantly therefore didn’t make any plans for it at all.
Spot on. I honestly can’t see the Tories or Labour moving us forward though. Nothing will get through Parliament with the current situation. We need a General Election which gives one party a ruling majority, so that they can push something through despite the ‘no’ votes of the opposition.
Just to clarify my own position, I am not a supporter of the Brexit party or a member of any other party, I consider myself to be a quiet, private individual, I am self supporting, independent and hopefully live a modest, content happy family life. Sometimes I have let it go on here and have regretted it afterwards, I powerfully love my country and Brexit has separated or split us right down the middle, as I have quoted we are a nation of lions being led by donkies, I want it resolved as quickly as possible and see our nation flourish again. I would never vote for Farage to govern our country but a lot of what he says has an element truth in it, I'm talking solely about Europe and the way it has developed, it's politics, it's economics and it's massive move towards federalism, it's worrying, it's happening and it's true, I want us to be European but also a free trading nation in control of our own government, policies, laws, security, trade, peoples and hence future. The 2 most important things to me is our nations sovereignty and democracy, the right to rule ourselves and for our people to have a majority to change things, as we did in the referendum. The majority voted leave and leave we must, we can always include the possibilty of another vote once we are out and ruling ourselves at an appropriate general election but our democratic principles must be upheld.
Farage is the only one talking sense at present. Mcvay and Ledsom are making the right noises think these two could be strong contenders against Boris.
I’ve read between the lines with you and can guess UKIP would be the more aligned party for you. Farage just wants us out of Europe but no manifesto’s on anything else. UKIP are on about if they win building low cost module houses and saying the overseas people can’t buy until they show 5 years residency.
I've just realised this was not written to me but it was worth the reply. ROD, I could not even get near UKIP with it's alignment with Tommy Robinson and the extreme right, I have got more in common with Labour than them, Liberal Democrats to me are are like the local washing they go which ever way the wind blows, except there useless determination to make us a colony of the EU, if Conervatives select the right leader with middle of the road policies and a commitment to leave Europe in October I think I know the way to go.
I agree with you, I was saying that RR seems more aligned. I said before that I’m Labour, but won’t vote for them at the moment. But come a GE I will probably stick with them or abstain from voting. If I voted Tory both my grandfather’s would come back and haunt me for the rest of my life.
politics is very clever …. and everything runs smooth when the clever people get elected … and the people who vote are not turned on a sixpence by hearing " we are going to scrap fee's... we are going to give everyone £10 an hour … we will put £1bn here there and everywhere …. most on here have families and that includes a residence whether bought or rented and a couple of kids a car and enjoy a holiday …. the mitigating thing is that is the successful amalgam is "budget" it is no different for the government or business or you might say "what comes in can go out" defines budget … manifesto … all of the above have one … Farage at the moment does not … will he fight a GE without one ? of course not..... will he establish his party [ the party he is involved with as he didn't i am led to believe actually start it ] on the main topic that is in the peoples eyes? he has and will in the immediate future … the next GE is scheduled for May 2022 .. so plenty time to prepare for that as they have no say in parliament as it stands ….. better to build slowly and not just come up with a load of drivel like Labour and Corboliks with his cronies whose main object in life is to have carved on their head "served as an MP / PM in the government of 20?? ………………. and some one coming along and adding " the biggest financial black hole and disaster for the fed state of the island of Britain"
Same here. Usually Labour, but they're so useless at the moment it's difficult. A vote for Labour would be purely to block the Tories giving us yet more ****, that's it. Might even go Green next time around. They're probably the sort of party that you wouldn't necessarily want running the country but having their voice at least heard is pretty important given they're the only ones who seem to give a damn about the most pressing worldwide issue at the moment!
