Just an update on what I will be doing this evening. I will be going to see a Play in Charlton. An amateur group called The Alexandra Players. They always support our Productions. I will then be going for a Ruby Murray, then a Tom Tit.

Going for a Ruby Murray, then having a Richard Murray......

The weather is to be fantastic, perhaps a picnic on Blackheath over the weekend?

Good luck with the gardening, Dick. It's bloody hot out there and everything is as dry as a stick. I know, I was in the allotment most of yesterday.

I have had to come in. I am sweating like a guilty Lesbian. My runner beans and Tomatoes are enjoying the heat. Through the winter I have been growing garlic. They have been really growing well. It looks like I will have lots of raspberries and Blackcurrants. Plus my fig tree, eating apple, Bramley cooking apple and peach trees have all got lots of fruit on them.
I am sorry if this is boring to some but I have to plough through Elfs posts.

Am quite partial to a blackcurrant, can you put some aside and I'll collect when convenient.

A drink in Welling next week depending on your movements perhaps.

Ps I do not find your diary tiresome, it's getting more interesting by the day.

Terrible year for aphids though. Every bloody where, eating things that they usually ignore. I go organic as much as possible, but decided to get some Bugclear. Went to Homebase and there was a pallet of the stuff by the entrance, must be a demand for it

It must be hard work, but very enjoyable. Having said that I'm glad that I only have a balcony to take care of.

I have been quite lucky with aphids, at the moment. I plant out marigolds around the plants and trees that the aphids love. I have also got bug houses which encourages ladybirds etc that are the aphids predators. I try to garden as organically as I can but I too sometimes use bug clear.

Yes, I was going to spray the broad beans, but the ladybirds have got there, so they can get stuck in, or their larvae can.

I have a terrible problem with Lilly Beatle, before I started using the Bug Gun they would strip my Lilies bare! The Bug Gun keeps the Lilies clear for about six weeks depending on the weather.

I was down in Portsmouth yesterday went to gunwarfh quays before spending the night on the cruise and maritime ship Marco polo.
Had been on canard and p&o ships before but wanted to try one of the cruise firms out..
Will stick to p &o and canard in future and give the likes of c&m and Fred Olsen a miss there not a patch on them two.
