Fabinho recently did an interview with Esporte Interativo:

- "I remember that after one of my games for Monaco, against Marseille, where I’d played well and scored, Firmino sent me a message and we started to talk. He said 'the coach asked about you, what I thought about you, I talked you up a little bit'. We exchanged some messages for a while, asked him some things about Liverpool and that was it for a while."

- "Then Liverpool reached my agents, made them aware of the interest and set up a meeting with Klopp. We talked about his ideas for the team, work routine, tactics, physical training. My interest was rising, because I had always said that if I were to leave Monaco, it would only be to a team that really wanted me. I was very happy with Liverpool wanting to sign me and then made my mind that it was the right thing to do. It was quick, right after the final against Real Madrid, the signing was made official."

- "That moment with Klopp was very important, but also the transition when I arrived. Played pretty much all the preseason games, thought that I played well, and because of that, also thought that I would start playing earlier, not wait as much I did. Others players made sure that I was relaxed, they told me 'don’t worry, everyone that arrives goes through that, like Robertson and Chamberlain'. I was calm, tried to learn about the team, the other players, getting used to the intensity of the league. After a while, Klopp gave me the chances and little by little I could show my value and that I could be important to the team."

This game was on 29 Jan 2018. We signed him on 28 May 2018.

Confirms that we really do know what we're doing in the transfer market - approached him very early on, kept it under wraps and announced him just after the CL final once literally everything was done.

I reckon there's a solid chance we'll see a signing or two confirmed next week.

It's all fine as long as player is not already in England. lol..... silly English rules and sulky clubs.

I never.once saw Michael Edwards.name in that. I saw klopps though.....

Youre right. Klopp probably scouted him, did all the analytics on his performances for 4 months, look into all aspects of his game, do the negotiating with Monaco and the player / players agent all while training the first team <ok>

It’s claimed Liverpool have spoken to Pepe’s representatives over a move to Anfield and the Reds discussed the fee that it would take to sign the Lille star. Lille have made no secret of the fact they’re willing to sell Pepe but they value the 24-year-old at around £80m.

Wilson is left footed so Mr lampard actually got very little out of him there. he needed to play right side to cut in.
Didn't see him playing on the left at all so I looked and can't find a single game. He played RW and AM. Perhaps there was a cup game or something on the left but it must have been rare.

I wouldn't sell him I'd loan him to a PL team, why the rush?

I watched their early games mate and he was lined up by lampard at left wing.

they had a couple friday games and the manc destruction.

in the end..... it could all be press talk.

all gone quiet now... cos there's footy. it really depends who loses final as to what rumours start flying in the gap til the stupid nations league starts.

I think we'd be daft to sell him he looks a good player, maybe not good enough but too early to tell. Get him in a PL and let him show us how much he wants in.

I checked again, 8 times LW mainly early on 19 RW, 13 AM.

Great that he can do that and again it screams at me to take our time and see how he develops.

15 goals 3 assists.

lampard woke up to it eventually. for me klopp doesn't think he has the attributes.

he's 22. in 2 years time maybe but for now he doesnt.

he imo is more likely the next lallana than next salah

It all depends what kind of offer we receive, if any. If someone offers 25m then take it. But if only 10m then pass, put him out on loan at prem club, and let him show what he can do in the prem and either increase his value for following summer or show he is worthy of a place in our squad.

We sold a reserve keeper for £12M and British players get their price inflated all the time I would say hang onto him and try him in the PL his value could go up by quite a lot.
